This makes me laugh..my son came home from an art trip to NYC a year ago April (when he was 17) with a t-shirt from a place called Yellow Rat (so charming...)...it's a doctor's shirt
left pocket says: gynecologist
right pocket says: Dick
Oh to be that age, in NYC, with teachers and classmates...you really do only live once... -

This makes me think of certain restaurants too.
My all-time favorite is "Terminal Lunch." (It's next door to the train station.) And then there's the little place in West Virginia called "The Sanitary Hotdog."
And a local dentist is Dr. Smyle! And Dr. Cutts, the surgeon.

My dentist as a child was Dr. Payne. His son is now practice we call them "Payne & more Payne".

I go to a military hospital because my hubby is retired from 20 year active duty career in the Navy.
I was recently told that i would be assigned to a new doctor named Dr. Dick who was going to be arriving at the Internal Medicine clinic. I was horrified because i thought that i would never be able to address him by his name because i would laugh. However, he was quickly deployed to Iraq after he arrived. Instead, i got assigned to Dr. Allchin, who is a 400 lb civilian woman with many chins.
This is a true story.

My hubby had wisdom teeth taken out at an oral surgons office...the practice was dr. fear and Dr. payne...All true. I couldn't make this $hit up if I tried!!

Kind of off topic, but does anyone remember the Mad Magazine yearbook? I would love to have one now. It had pictures of kids but the names were hysterical.

I had a bank customer once named "Wood Branch" -
At the hospital where I worked a mom named her new baby "Nosmok". She said she saw it in a dream.
The sign above the doors to the delivery room was: (No Smoking)but the :"ing " was missing.
(shaking my head, that was one of the more simple names some of the mothers came up with) -

My husband is an NICU RN. A VERY young new mom came in to visit her baby girl, noticed a tag at the end of the isolet
and wanted to know who had named her baby fe-ma-le. My husband explained to her that the tag said "female" not fe-ma-le. Guess what? New mom liked the sound of it and that's what she named her daughter. -

Daughters were Ima Fink and Ura Fink.
But this isn't really true, I don't think! -
I once worked for a lady named "Polly". She was out one day when I took a phone message for her it was her ex-husband & his last name was "Parrot". I never let her live it down! No wonder she divorced him.
