Onco says Mom has a really good prognosis! Yeah!
She needs rads and arimidex, femara or tamoxifen - her choice.
He recommended the arimidex or femara as being better but her medicare part D is a lot more expensive for those. The incomes around here are very fixed so this unfortunately an issue.
I'm going to post on the forum about these drugs for advice as to their difference but any opinions would be so welcome.
Hope you are all doing well today!

Did he say what the difference between tamoxifen and Ai's as far are reoccurence rates was?

I think it's like 5%. If the money is an issue you can be comfortable knowing you are doing all you can afford.

My onc has me on 2 year of tamoxifen, then 3 - 5 yrs of an AI. They think that 'tamoxifen priming" has slightly better results. I am pre-menopausal so that may make a difference. But going 2 yrs on tamox and then switching might be helpful to the pocketbook if your mom doesn't want to do 5 yrs of tamox.
