Light a candle with me today
Comments
-
I lit three candles this afternoon
one candle will burn for those who have gone before us;
one candle will burn for those of us who continue to fight together;
one candle will burn so that we can live to see a future without breast cancer.
And together they unite us in spirit, hope, and love.
There is no other sisterhood I could be prouder to belong to. -

Hi Patti, et al...I lit a candle for you today...I'd like you all to visit www.gratefulness.org/candles. When you get there, click on "search" at the top of the screen. Type "Mena" in the box, then click on the candle icon to see my message to you. It's a special site I love. You may want to light your own candle, too, once you get there...btw, you cannot access the link from here for some reason, so you'll have to type it out in your search engine...it's worth it...wait til you see this site...xo

lighting a candle with my friends for peace , love and harmony ~

I love the thought "together in the light." I will be lighting candles tonight when I get home from work.
Interestingly, a few years ago I worked with an incredible woman who started a meditation process in our office. We all gathered in her room and would quietly hold in our mind a white light surrounding someone we knew in distress. In almost every case, that quiet medidation gave the person strength and there would be a sudden shift in the resolution of the problem. I just wish it would have worked when we did it daily for that incredible woman who died from bc a few years later. I miss her terribly.
thanks for letting me share a memory here. hope it wasn't too long.
in the light,
grace -
No Grace it was not to long , and thankyou for sharing
your lovely memory of sharing the light.
Carrie -
I'm lighting a candle for understanding, for kindness and compassion, so that others need never make someone else feel small so that they can feel better about themselves, for harmony.

It seemed the world was darker
No caring anywhere
Leading to despair.
But one day when I was praying
My eyes opened up somehow
And I saw candles glowing
In the here and now.
There were bright lights all around me
I never noticed much before
For in this darkened world
I'd become unsure.
Then I saw one in a friend
For when she smiled at me
I saw a beacon shining
In a dark and stormy sea.
Yes the candles of the light of God
Were showing everywhere
In many many people
I could see the love and care.
He was kindling up a fire
Of his spirit more and more
And I could see so many bright lights
I'd overlooked before.
I saw a steady candle in the mate that I adore
Then I looked around and noticed lights
I'd overlooked before.
God was kindling up the fire
Of his spirit more and more
And I saw so many bright lights
I'd overlooked before.

Love to all my sisters ~ -
Dear God,Lord, Goddess, Divine Spirit,Yahweh,Allah Father
creator of all there is,
we thank you for this opportunity
to gather together in one another's company.
We thank you for the light
you bring to this family gathering.
Please grant us the vision
to see the highest in one another,
and grant us the opportunity to continue to be there for each other in good times, as well as not-so-great-times.
Give us strength and fortitude to ride the tides of change, and empower us always to be nurturing and loving with one another. Open our spiritual eyes that we may see one another for who we truly are... and love one other in the same spirit.
May sadness, disappointment and anger be minimal; may happiness, positive thoughts and good experiences together be bountiful. May we always cope, and hope, with each other... with grace.

I have lit candles for all of you...have decided to stay off some of the other forums. As a fairly new sister to this site, I was upset with some of the discussion happenings...my energies are better spent in prayer, meditation, inspiration and support...soooooo thanks for this thread...I will be here often...
