Hi,
I receieved this last nite, and Im sure some of you also have, but I thought it was a very important that others see it also...
Yes, it is sad, another "sister" to be an angel soon... Although, I must say I would hate for anyone here to say later on: "oh I wish I would of gotten to know Diane, or if I had only said this or that". Anyway I wanted to share just this one special email I recieved from her.

Diane IS an awsome lady with so much charchater and has such a wondeful spirit that will never vanish. She is one heck of a lady! I have been very honered to know her for a few years and very blesssed she has been my friend and I have been so blessed she allowed me into her life to be her friend.
Amen
Megi

Hello All my friends and family,

Some are aware that my battle is beating me, but some of you aren't in other general mailings. My cancer journey will soon be taking me home.

I am on a 'comfort zone' as far as meds go.
Been planning my funeral... the when needs to wait some, but have the where picked out. Know which dress I want to wear.

I hope my time here [and I'm on hospice now also] goes quickly and quietly.
I feel bad for whoever will find me dead, but hope they'll know I'm at peace.
I can't imagine finding a person in their death sleep. Better die at the hospital, I guess that'd be easier than on one person. I wouldn't like to find a dead person, especially a loved relative or friend.

I would maybe hope to fish at the Navesink Pond [Garvey's Pond] once more. No license... let the game warden try to fine a dying woman... oh the media would kill them!

I'd need help getting worms, but can hook them myself. I can unhook a fish, but won't be able to toss it back far enough in the water. Someone would have to touch a fish... and it wouldn't be Linda!!!

Richie is busy keeping food prepared for the coming days. He is so tired everyday. He almost refuses for me to do anything myself.
Reminds me of something my friend Jan said long ago...

'Richie can't control my cancer or the result... so by controlling other aspects he feels he makes a difference.' And he does.
Richie and Linda [both here directly with me everyday] have gone beyond to keep me comfy, fed, clean and cozy. Some days that's a challenge!

Well, thanks again for being a part of my life.
Live your's well, as we don't hold the clock.

I'll foward this multi-mail and some of you other's can re-direct to those who know me and follow my story... mainly my school friends, Beth, and or Susan, please send on.

Kathy[beamie] won't be at our next reunion. Please remember me.

Love, Diane [Schaerer] Casey

I have been away from the boards for a few days due to my breast reconstruction. I finally saw your message and want to thank you for letting us all know. I hope Dianne and her family are able to get through this final trek. She has touched many hearts here....love and prayers.

    Dearest Diane,

It is disconcerting knowing what any dying person wants to hear! But not for the internet and this GREAT web-site, I would not have known you even existed. I imagine you want to hear what any of us do…that you are loved…that your life mattered…that you will live in many person’s thoughts & memories for the remainder of their lives, ad infinitum—yes?

Putting myself on the deathbed—that’s what I would want to know, to feel, to take with ME...to the grave. In the end, LOVE is ALL there is…and isn’t being loved the greatest thing ever!

Know that you are loved! Know that your life touched millions! Know that you mattered! And, tell ‘Dad’ hi … from the rest of his children…when you get home! Amen! Let the Love & the Light surround you, love you, embrace you! Just let go....it is YOUR reward time! We release you from THIS life now! *~* Farewell, Sweet Diane! *~*
