At one of our last choir practices in Lent, our "very proper" director announced that we would NOT be singing one of my favorite pieces. I made a loud protest about how we wouldn't get another chance for a year if we didn't sing it now, so I'd just have to sing it alone, walking around the parking lot-----to which he replied "Don't forget to beat your breast." After a slight pause he added, "Oh, but YOU can't do that!" When everyone fell totally silent he realized what he had said. He was so embarressed he turned purple! He started apologizing profusely at which point I burst out laughing hysterically and everyone else joined me while he groveled------gotta keep laughing!!!!!!

You handled that very well! When I was undergoing chemo and still working. I hated my wig and chose to wear bright hats. I sent a patient to the hematologist because he had a nonmalignant blood disorder and he came in for a refill of his meds. I asked him if he had kept his six month follow-up with the hematologist.

He replied, "I hate going there. The waiting room is always full of weird-looking people."

I looked at him and said, "Oh, bald with funny hats?"

OMG! He could have fallen through the floor. I told him that I had a feeling he wasn't going to come back and see me again. I told him that if he did come back in 6 months, I should have hair. I am bad.

I Had a neighbor tell me that I was faking cancer, I had no hair, 3 Surgeries and chemo

I ask her where she put my hair and boobs. Never spoke to me again.  And still thinks

that way.
