An older lady and her dog were on a safari in Africa. The poodle jumped out of the window and walked away. While wandering, the poodle saw a lion coming toward her.
Quickly, she saw the remains of an old lion and immediately began gnawing on it. As the lion drew nearer, she said, "Catching this one was simple. But I am still hungry."
The lion, hearing this, was scared and ran away.
Nearby, a monkey saw what had happened and found an opportunity. He chased after the lion and made a deal. He would be safe from the lion's hunger if he would give him the secret.
So the monkey jumped on the lion's back and together, they headed toward the poodle.
The poodle saw the two coming and knew she was in trouble.
Quickly she knew she had to turn the situation around.
So she turned her back on the pair and waited.
When they were close enough, she said to herself, "I wonder where that monkey went? I agreed to let him go if he brought me another lion for my supper!"
