What an evil person, I'm drooling over the crabs~!~!~!

Well, since I'm abstaining from alcohol this week, I'll send over the couple that I would've had tonight. How 'bout a crab?
Lini -
No problem i have plenty. you send the beer and I'll send the crabs.
-
ROFL -
Leave it to you. You always come up with the best pictures. My mouth is watering.

Yummy. . . Maryland crabs are the best. Of course now I can't pick them for fear of cutting or scratching my hand/arm (lymphedema) but I *can* still eat crabcakes, crabpuffs, crab soup, crab dip, crab-stuffed mushrooms, etc.
-
Just got home from work and enjoying a glass of pinot grigio. I guess I didnt learn my lesson from last week, lol.
NuttyNurseNicki -
Some lessons bear repeating Nicki, you know "if at first you don't succeed..."
I'll raise my glass of merlot to you ~ just thinking about going to light the barbecue for burgers and a nice salad...before everyone takes off in different directions...
an appetizer would go so well right about now.... -
Sherry: Same here. We are just gonna enjoy this beautiful summer evening. Cheers!
That is if I can get my butt off this computer for a bit.
NuttyNurseNicki -
Yes you did, you're just taking it a little slower this time.
BIG EVIL GRIN~!~!~!

I'm on night #2 of the sober wagon. Luckily tonight I have a distraction!
Will catch you all tomorrow! -
Janis,
Are you sober, too?? This is night #3 for me. Geez, I have such a bad headache that I know a beer or two would take right away, but I must win the bet. Don't even know what I get if I win, but as long as I win it doesn't really matter.
Lini -
Well ladies, it's 1:34 a.m., hell of day - they decided to install the port-a-cath this a.m. and give me my chemo cockail and now of course, I can't sleep!! To top things off I can't drink either - I'm on the wagon for awhile, how long not sure, saw the crab and beer, it got the mouth watering - looks so good! If someone is out there tonight - have a night cap or two for me! I'm so glad this sh*tty week is over. I hope my string of bad luck is finished! If not you can be sure I'll be off the wagon!
-
Here's to a night cap for Sonja and all of you on the wagon. Tomorrow when I wake up (5 hrs from now) for an eye doc appt I'll swear I should be on the wagon w/ y'all.
-
Lini,
You can do it! It's just one week - you can drink all you want in a few days! I'm on the wagon with you and we can fall off together.
Time for yardwork (lawn, gutters, weeding, etc.). Yuck. Good thing I'm not hungover! -
Well Christine, haven't slept yet, hopefully sleep with arrive tonight!!!
We decided on Lobster for supper tonight, what the heck, enjoy life while we can....... so of course with that comes the white wine!!! A tiny glass for me!
I hope I don't crash in my dinner plate!
Can't wait to get back to my old self (whatever that was) and at least have an apero before supper - takes off the edge! -
Janis,
HELP!! My DH conceded. He says I win. I'm thinking about having a beer with my gourmet pizza. Decisions, decisions!! It is very tempting. Should I say heck with the diet?? I am weak. HELP!!! -
Yikes about your dilemma but congrats for winning!
Well, I'm still going to try to last a week - even if you don't. Maybe he'll agree to give you a special gift if you make it a whole week? (just tryin' to get ya somethin' good! )
Janis L -
I'm weak, weak!! I had a beer with my 2 slices of spinach, pesto, sun-dried tomato, feta pizza. How could I not?
That's it! No more until Thursday afternoon under a huge tree in Yosemite.
I'll keep cheering you on though.
Lini
P.S. I always get somethin' good! -
Hey ladies...the crab & lobster sounds nice, but I'm feeling like crapola! Sonja - ewe! Sorry chica!
Don't know if I'll be around tomorrow, as I feel a day of sleep comin on! Lord - I just want to sleep thru this last round of side effects and pain! Wish me luck, ladies! Someone hit me over the head with a wine bottle or something!
Geez!
Marla -
I wanna go with you...........WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH..
I love white water rafting......
When are you leaving?? -
Okay. I may have found new friends. I was recently dx-ed. Surgery is 07-25. I love an occasional beer, wine. In fact, I have a great bottle of pinot grigio and some Sam Adams Cherry Wheat beer in my frig right now.
But the doggone "research" says that "we" are not suppose to drink!! Huh? I thought a drink or two a week (esp red wine) was supposed to be good for cardio health. Do I really have to go back to drinking Cheerwine and Mountain Dew?
Loss of hair, weight gain from meds . . . that I can handle. But no beer or wine? I am very sad.
Advice appreciated.

(((Jodi)))
I hear ya girl! When I heard I had to give up my alcohol I was like "WTF?" but my chemo nurse told me (and I'm sure my onc too but my chemo nurse was my captive audience during A/C) that if I wanted an occasional glass of wine (or whatever) it would be okay.
Well, I found that during chemo I really didn't want any or much alcohol at all. Wine tasted like crap (I'm back to normal now thank gawd!) but I was able to tolerate an occasional Marguerita (it was Summer after all!) when I went out for Mexican food. I didn't miss drinking any more than I missed anything else that my taste buds couldn't tolerate. I figured that my body was telling me what not to do so I listened. That was just me though so I hope you fare better!
Good luck to you! I'm one year out and I can honestly say that one year DOES make a difference!
Janis L -
Janis ~~ geez. This all sucks very much. BC is even worse than I thought (lmao). I am having friends over tonight for my "going away" (geez that sounds yucky) dinner. I am leaving Tuesday to go to NC for the pre op tests and surgery.
YOU CAN BET I will have a glass of wine tonight. I will need it. I will be doing most of the comforting and reassuring!
Jodi -
Jodi-Welcome!! This is a fun and interesting place to make new friends.
Vera-You are welcome aboard, the raft, that is.
Janis-Just wondering how that wagon ride is going? Got back on and have been doing good. Don't think I'll lose the 5 lbs. though, but maybe 2 or 3. Better than none.
Lini -
I like how you put the raft in there.
We leave on Wed for a prowler get together in Louisville KY, there should be over 90 prowler cars there,,, should be interesting to meet these people in person...
just like meeting people from this board...
just vera -
Well wasn't sure you wanted to join Janis and me on the wagon ride this week. It's kind of boring.
Have fun in the prowler!!! -
:::THUNK:::
(that was me falling off the sober wagon)
Janis L -
Janis - glad to have you back on board. It was one of of my friend's bdays this weekend and of course, she was ready to celebrate all weekend long. I had to disappear for awhile and say I'd catch up later. Glad it is finally over. Wheeh! Tomorrow I have a follow up w/onc. I truly can not keep up with those GF of mine anymore!
-
Well, looks like I am all alone for two more days.
