Happy Funday Sunday and Happy Mothers Day again! My sister's cat sent me a mothers day card with $20. He is a thoughtful kitten! Cute photo of him sleeping (which is rare as he is a busy boy) below. This pic was from 2 months ago when I was visiting, so he is much bigger now.
Janky- so wonderful you have both parents. I agree that devices should be put away when visiting with other. Enjoy your family time today.
Cami- I hope you are having a nice day with the family. Blessings to you mother to the daughters and also grandma to Joey (and perhaps other grandchildren too). I hope Leslie is doing okay, those hormone blocker starts are no fun. By the third month, I was miserable. I hope her remaining surgeries go okay. Was she able to finish up her rads? Sending you much love on this Mothers Day.
Goldie- it sounds like you are working to get your mom's place cleaned out now. My heart goes out to you as I was in a similar situation with our parents house back in 2004-2005. One of the hardest things I have ever been through and was in a FT job then, doing periodic FMLA and then the big purge before we moved our mom to be near my sister. Plus, your DH is having problems too. I hope things are better soon, and know this is a super hard time for you right now friend. Sending you mothers day love today.
NM- I am wondering what nice thing Miss Sadie is doing for you today? I am so glad to hear the kayak will be coming out soon. I know you put it on the list to resume this summer. Are you still de-cluttering and do you still have the dumpster? I agree with others that you should feel guilty about doing something nice for yourself when sometimes other things around you are not ideal. We just can't be there for everyone all the time sometimes. We are only one person.....
Dara- good to see you sister and glad you had a good lunch with your friend. Hope some networking is helping you on the job front.
Ill- I love the beach pics and love that you are enjoying yourself down in sunny Florida. Nothing like the feeling of sand in your toes (loved that pic). Hope you are enjoying good weather, good food and some nice downtime friend.
I can't remember who it was on this thread, but someone else was going on vaca too?
I was out early working in the gardens today and now in for awhile to do some house things. Wishing everyone a lovely day and good week ahead. See you next weekend!
-
One last thing, some lovely music from jazz trumpist, Chris Botti, and opera singer, Andrea Bocelli.
-
Hi Jazzy - I too am on vacay in Georgia - when I lwoke up Thursday morning at home in Alberta it was SNOWING!!! mindy you it did not last long but still...so Georgia is truly a vacay for me. I love the cat (I am a true cat lover and owner as well, my Levi looks like your sisters but he is totally overweight
!
-
I’m enjoying a rum and coke after an afternoon of parasailing, sure was fun 😀
-
Ill- that looks like a super fun time. And wow, the heron too!
-
Illimae, when I see people parasailing, I think it looks like fun and I enjoy watching them soar, but I don't think I could ever get the courage up to do it!!
Dreary day today. Went to the cemetery today. DD#2 told her father to buy me flowers from so he got dark pink carnations. Otherwise low key day. In the past 10 days, 3 birthdays and mother's day
.
-
Karen, it’s way more mellow than it seems, not scary at all.
The DOTD for me is a Corona with lime.
-
My spearmint is coming up nicely, though the lemon balm (aka horse mint) is invasive as hell. My chives were doing beautifully until this morning--looked like they'd been mowed by a drunk with a scythe. I was going to ask my landscaper what happened, because he mowed on Thurs. and enthused about how good the chives looked. Then, I glanced across the lawn...and there I saw one of the dozens of rabbits that have taken over the neighborhood. We now have more bunnies than rats. We've all stopped trying to grow lettuce, but who knew they had a taste for chives? And can't they eat crabgrass? (Or that dang horse mint)?
Illi, that parasailing does look like fun. Hope to try it some day. Cami, Bob says he hasn't heard of Fry the Coop, but he'll ask his nurses & patients.
Gordy took me to Furama today for dim sum. No alcohol there, but I made Aperol spritzers when we got home.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Monday Monkey Day! Not my circus, not my monkeys day! Teaching this week, so excited. Got an email this am, they need coverage for several other classes through the rest of the month. I'm going to try to pick up at least one, if not a couple. The funny thing is that I have just sent an availability calendar to Hospice, and now will be making last minute changes, and I'm feeling guilty about it! Why should I feel guilty, they can do the same thing to me at any time!Arrgh, will deal with that after class today. Need to stay focused right now.
Teka--Thank you!
Jazzy--Aw, a card from your sister's kitty, how sweet! He is a handsome kitty. I am still decluttering, but it has evolved from just cleaning out junk to reorganizing as well. I still have the dumpster and plan to keep it, I like the convenience of not having to separate out the recyclables and being able to take stuff out any time I want. Miss Sadie was a very good doggy girl yesterday, she didn't let me work on any project for more than 15 minutes a time without taking a break--to rub her belly, scratch her ears, play fetch, etc.Ooh, Andra Bocelli, love his singing! The trumpist is amazing!
Janky--YIKES! Nothing like being on vacay in the sun and hearing it's snowing back home! Doesn't usually happen this time of year, though.
Illi--Love the smiley on the parasail! And the heron!
Karen56--Wow, you've been busy!
Chi--Oh dear, bunnys can be cute as heck and twice as destructive to a garden! I didn't know they had a taste for chives, but maybe you have gourmet bunnies?
Countess Bunty Rothschild's DOTD:
Watermelon Mint Frosé
- 1 (750-milliliter) bottle rosé wine (preferably something on the darker, bolder side)
- 1 pound watermelon cubes
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 to 10 fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
Pour the rosé into ice cube trays and freeze for at least 6 hours or preferably overnight. Place the watermelon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper so that the cubes are not touching each other. Freeze for at least 2 hours, then transfer the watermelon into a container or zip-top bag and keep frozen.
Make the mint simple syrup: Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until dissolved. Add the mint and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn off the heat and let sit for 15 minutes. Strain the syrup into a small bowl, discard the mint leaves, and let the syrup cool before putting it into the refrigerator until ready to make the drink.
Place the rosé ice cubes, frozen watermelon, mint simple syrup, and lemon juice in a blender and blend until combined and creamy. Pour into glasses and garnish each glass with a sprig of mint.

Good day after Mom's day ladies, hope everyone had a nice one.
Karen I'm with u on the parasailing, it's great to watch and ILL it does look simple, but I can't imagine ever doing it, I'm one of those scaredy cats, speaking of oh the cat is beautiful, U all know what a cat lover I am, I just enjoy their faces so much.
Janky waking up with snow then to be in GA is mind blowing, hope it;s all good.
Jazzy great video and ur another garden person, so this is ur happy time of the year. Like the card u got from the cat.
Sandy yes it's all chicken and sides and it opened last summer---but the chicken is mild, spicey, hot and OMG kind and even the chicken with waffles---but I think cuz he has been on TV like 3 times it became much more popular that's why he's been so busy. My family is going to try to get to the grand opening this coming Saturday and now they do serve beer and I think wine so it is doing better now.
Lori doing ur mom's house to me is a huge job. When my sister and I did our parents they just had a 2 bedroom condo, so altho it took us a while cuz we were enjoying so many great memories timewise it would be faster, there wasn't a lot of yrs. of clutter to go thru. took everything out and all the grandkids came over and took whatever they wanted then we got rid of the rest. Then we called places to donate stuff too and they came to pick up things, but none of it is easy. U were really busy this weekend, hope u get to rest.
Kim I so enjoy how Sadie is ur audience and Im sure u wish she could ask u questions. Ur lucky she sits and listens to you.I'm sure I wouldn't understand And Jazzy was asking too, are u all done decluttering??? It sounds like it. This has been a busy year for you with teaching being the icing on the cake.
Well I'll be going back to work Tuesday. Dan came over last night and he was teaching me all the new chit, this man never stops with this new stuff, but I have to say it will run smoother <I hope> Once I get used to things I'm fine, mostly. But he said he has some last minute things to do with the phone, then he asks me what phone I like the best to use. Yep the Princess phone, he has no clue, so that's out. But we have actually gotten busier so we'll see how I'll do. For some reason the word Titanic came to mind, and that was one of the kinder words.

ChiSandy- I have a squirrel eating selected flowers from my yard. It went to town on some petunias I put in to pots in April (ate them to the core and it ruined them), but now after blooming verbena. I was not sure about what was doing it, but a friend suggested it might be a squirrel. I have caught him/her in the pots more than once and chased the bugger away, and found he had eaten the tops off my red verbena in the ground yesterday. ARRGH!. I am trying something I found on line to use a peppermint oil and water spray on the things he/she likes to chew and sprayed some areas last night. Might be good for your bunny problems too. Will let you know if it helps?
Cami- I see on FB that someone (you) has a birthday this week!
Heading to an early morning swim, have a good week ladies!
-
NM, you got that right about the oder. Mom has been gone more than 5 months and it still smells as bad as it did then. It's not going anywhere. I'm pretty sure once the bank takes over the house, they will tear it down. Sadie makes for a good student and listener! The spinal sinosis explanation is how the PT therapist explained it to us, also about the nerves. And she had a model to even show us.Will be anxious to see how the teaching job goes. I think adding the games is awesome. My niece just graduated, she is an RN. We ordered some hibiscus tea, it's actually pretty good and a pretty pink color like your DOTD.
Jazzy, I think you shoud be a therapist. You always have such positive things to say to everyone and such great advice. The cleaning at moms is mostly to personal things and some clothes. She also has a ton of sunglasses, purses and shoes, as everything had to match. Most of the time she just looked silly. AND, it all smells. The critters here get permanetly removed! But because of my fence, I don't have any rabbits or deer anymore. Just rats, mice, and an occasional squirrel and chipmunk. And if they do get to my flowers, they usually eat the flowers only. I have given up on petunias, they love those!
Ill, para sailing. How awesome. I would be too afraid!
Sandy, the rabbits will go after the other stuff once the good stuff is gone!
Karen, so nice to see you poop in the lounge.....LOL, that doesn't quite sound right, but you know what I mean.
Cami, before I read you wanted the princess phone, I knew that would be the answer. Not necessarily the Princess one, but the old time rotary dial. Good luck going back to work. How about a Hello Kitty princess phone?

Guests are leaving this morning. I can't believe how much they eat! And no one is over weight, they are tiny people!
-
Goldie- you are not the first person to say I should be a therapist, because I have a high degree of empathy and a lot of life experiences that people like to draw upon. The world of mental health care is a very important field, but not my thing (I love science and technology). Thank you for your kind words.
The only petunias I have now are in the front yard where the squirrel does not seem to go. However, that being said, there are bunnies out front. But the petunias are in tall pots and not reachable. No chewing out front yet, but won't say it may not be coming.....
-
I’m afraid of heights too but the parasailing wasn’t bad at all, it doesn’t feel high up over the ocean.
Last day of vacation
-
More new music. I am loving this band (look at the size of each section) and they have great full sound. Cami, this is for you as you like jazz but think this is more jazz fusion
-
-
Ill- what is the thing with the survived the Cat 5 logo? Is that a water bottle?
Enjoy the last of the vaca. Safe travels home!
-
Water? On this thread?! Oh no, it was coconut rum, oj, lime and I forget what else, sure was tasty though!

Bob says he'll stop by Fry the Coop--he's never had Nashville hot chicken (neither have I, only either Buffalo wings or Gus' hot chicken from Memphis--which is cornmeal-breaded and the heat is in the dredging flour itself, and doesn't really float my boat). It's about a mile w. of Christ Hospital, acc. to the map. Menu, while limited, looks interesting (especially their take on waffles).
When we were in Tuscany in July 2016, we were based at the HGV timeshare resort villa "Borgo alla Vigne" just up the hill from the village of Selvatelle (and down the hill from Terracioli). We tried to drive to the medieval hill towns of San Gimignano and Volterra, but despite it being 100F it was high tourist season and all the parking lots & garages were overrun with tour buses, SUVs and RVs. Tough enough to climb the stairs into the walled villages, but insane having to park a mile away further downhill first. So we drove around the countryside. Between Selvatelle & Volterra is the town of Lajatico--the birthplace & hometown of Andrea Bocelli. And the town fathers want to make sure you know that, because everything seems to be named after him--the teatro, the sports center, the schools, the gardens, market, etc. I half expected to see a petrol station named "Andrea Bocelli Shell."
Voice lesson & errands today, and dinner was leftover dim sum. Sipping on a fragola spritzer right now. Earlier today I went to my local Target, which had recently been remodeled. The kitchenware section featured a display of al fresco dinnerware & glassware...the centerpiece was a bunch of bottles of Aperol. (They took Bon Appetit's "Summer Like an Italian" cover literally).
Storms this morning--so dark I slept past 11 am. Another about 6 pm (while I was inside pushing a shopping cart around Target, searching vainly for a microwave steamer & bacon rack to replace the ones I had that cracked; 7 different microwaves on display but no accessories for them). Then about 10 pm, fierce storms--pouring down buckets with lightning and thunder so loud & close the kitties jumped off the couch and ran for cover.

Hi Ladies,
Sandy u know more about that restaurant than I do LOL. I hope to go saturday, cuz my cousin is planning on going...It's her grandson. It's funny too none of us have ever tried chicken and waffles and my one cousin did, <she's a vegan too> but said she couldn't believe how good that combo was, so if I go, I'm going to try that, something I never had but mild for sure. Can't take spicy anymore and I grew up on it. U know I never knew squirrels ate flowers, I just thought it was bunnies.
Jazzy some more great music, so nice. Yes another year older this week, 73 yrs. now I still remember when I was 3. 4 like a few yrs. ago.I lived in Chicago in an Italian neighborhood <everyone lived in their own neighborhood> so all the stores and people just spoke Italian for blocks and moving to the suburbs was really a culture shock, remembering it was the first time I saw Wonderbread. A silly memory. But no one baked their own bread. LOL
DARA, DARA, DARA---I have to tell u---Joey played the flute last nite for me, however he's learning he's doing pretty good...actual songs. All because of you. I hope the job front is opening up for you. Always thinking of you.
Lori I hope ur DH is doing a little better. I was thinking tho, why don't u stay by ur brothers when u go to MI. Won't it make u feel better than staying alone by ur mom's house. Just give it a thought, a big one.
OK I'm all confused, nothing new. Someone is getting married now or super close right Well what's going on and I didn't see any pics, which is a big deal to me.
Ill u may think flying over the ocean is no big deal, WOW, I wouldn't go in the ocean let alone flying over it. But seems like u had a great time and that's what counts.
I didn't get my phone yesterday, I went to sleep early last nite so we'll see what happens today. I really need to work, but I can't help but think can I still do this and get used to it quickly. I'll let u know.
Marty gets his stitches out today, hoping he's ready to get released for work, all of us want that. Jeez he's got stitches all over the place, fingers, lower hand and he just wants to work, so we'll see.
Check back later.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Day One of class went pretty smoothly. I've got an air conditioner to compete with, but I've never been called soft-spoken so we're doing pretty well with that.Except for one girl who keeps falling asleep the group is pretty lively. The one big drawback is that I wore shoes with heels, not thinking that I haven't worn heels for any length of time for ages. Talk about hurting feet by the end of the day! Not to mention the sore and stiff back. The feet feel better, the back is just muttering so no heels today and all should be well. Sadie was surprised when I got home before 5 pm--literally surprised! She must have been napping, didn't see her in the yard like I usually do as I drive in, and I heard a bark and a thump when I closed the garage door. She gave me the funniest look when I came into the kitchen!
Cammy--glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Dan really is always moving ahead, isn't he? I do hope the newest changes make thing easier for everyone, including you. I'm not done decluttering, but do have the biggest part of the stuff out. Now it's more what I call project work--cleaning out, decluttering, reorganizing specific areas for specific uses, like the sewing room.
Jazzy--I've heard about sprinkling cinnamon around plants to help keep critters away from the plants. Not sure how well it works, but maybe worth a try.
Goldie--Hibiscus tea sounds very yummy!I'll have to look for some. I wonder if it would make good iced tea? Congrats to your niece!
Illi--WHAT IS IN THAT DRINK???? If it's as good as it looks I want some, too!
Chi-- I like a good thunderstorm, but not when it makes me jump like that! It is amazing how hard it can be to find accessories for things, and inevitably when I find one I really like and it wears out or breaks I can't find another like it.

NM, the first pic was a Hurricane (Category 5) and the 2nd was the Cruzan Infusion Bucket.
-
Jazzy, good luck with keeping the petunias in the front! Nice looking cocktails and safe travels home, unless you are there already!
Sandy, strange you couldn't find micro wave accessories. I have never made bacon in a microwave. Doesn't it make a huge greasy mess in there?
Cami, I am not afraid to stay by myself at moms. I will be fine. I won't have a car, and I absolutely HATE waiting on someone else, especially if I'm ready to go. I know the young gal Karen that was here was getting married, but she hasn't been back. Can't think of anyone else. Sandy's son maybe? Gordy.
NM, with all the different hours you are working, I'm surprised that Sadie is surprised. How long does class last. Why does sleepy head even come if she is going to go to sleep. I'm sure that's nothing off your back if she nods, right? Her loss? The Hibiscus tea is good cold. Couldn't find it any store around me, but I don't have but 2, so ordered on Amazon. Actually bought it to help with DH high BP, suppose to be good for that. He seems to just take his pills, instead of trying natural ways. Even with increase in BP meds, it's still high.
Heading out later for pain management and urologist. The drugs are making him feel good, but he sweats and seems to talk alot! Mom is still asking for things. She wants her captain picture, 2 pictures in the kitchen of trees that change seasons as you walk by, salt lamp, for which she only has one plug and has to keep switching her phone and ipad to charge, a curior cabinet, sunglasses she can decorate.....oy vey. My brother got on her for refusing showers. She talks like a little girl with us, then normal voice when someone comes in. "Oh thank you sweetheart". She is actually quite the slob. Crap all over her bed, night stand, rolling table for meals and even the wheel chair seat!
-
Cami, forgot to say how happy I am to see you back. Was looking at your diagnosis, stage IV for 11 years! I WANT THAT!
-
No, Gordy is not getting married any time soon (though he spends so many nights at Leslie's apt. that they might as well just find a place with enough closet space plus easy parking for her car and move in together). I really like her and hope they get to the next level. Her school (she teaches English & History at Chi. Math & Science Academy) was just named the top charter school in IL. Meanwhile, he & his colleagues have decided to reorganize and rename the comedy troupe/theater company so they needn't donate their resources to another 501c3. He says they're thinking of expanding the corporate purpose to presenting programs at schools & senior centers. And as Banned Books Week is coming up soon, he'll have some income from City Lit Theatre, which runs it. He's contemplating auditioning for local films, TV & commercials--not just improv and even beyond comedy; maybe write a sitcom script.
Lori, I almost always do bacon in the microwave, except in quantity or when I need the grease for a recipe. With a bacon tray (not a rack that you drape strips over and the fat drips down), it's not messy at all. I put a paper towel on the bacon tray, lay the slices down flat, and cover them with another paper towel. (For only 2 slices, I just use one full-size "Select-a Size" paper towel and fold it over at the perforation to cover the bacon). I don't have a "bacon" key on my microwave, but I just use "high" power. I buy thick sliced premium bacon, for which 2 min. is the perfect time for two slices. If the bacon looks a little too uncooked, I just hit the "add 30 sec." button, which usually does the trick. There are a few drops of grease in the channels of the tray, which I pour into the drippings can; but the paper towels absorb most of the grease. (When they cool down, I let Happy lick them--in fact when I'm nuking bacon he circles around my feet meowing till it's done). There are no splatters, and the microwave has a slight smoky smell that dissipates quickly. And the bacon tray is much cooler and safer to handle than the pan I use in the toaster oven (which, BTW, has replaced my regular oven, air fryer, dehydrator and even slow-cooker).
DOTD is two amazing coffees Leslie brought me from Houston: Don Roberto dark roast Costa Rican Tarrazu and Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, made in my Aeropress right into my Ember mug. At brew temperature, they taste sort of neutral; but when they hit the target temp of 134F, the aroma and taste are exquisite. And the mug holds it at 134 down to the last drop, so long as the battery was fully charged at the time I made the coffee.
Lori, I'm a bit confused by your signature profile--you list your initial dx as "DCIS" but describe it as Stage IIB. That's a contradiction in terms--if it was any stage other than 0 it was invasive (IDC or ILC), especially if there were positive nodes, because DCIS by definition can't metastasize, at least when first diagnosed. If the path report mentioned "associated" or "additional" DCIS, the invasive component is still both the official dx and determinant of the treatment plan.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Hump Day! Last day of class today. I'm looking forward to the day, sorry to see it coming to an end. Surprised Sadie again when I got home.Poor pup doesn't know what to expect anymore! We got some serious rain yesterday, a couple of real downpours in there. But that's all gone, sunny and cool day on tap for today. The feet feel better after a day without heels, got to wear the sandals again today and got to look for some flats that I can wear when teaching. Got to work back into wearing heels againif I'm going to wear them at all!
Illi--What fun!Love the Hurricane Categories! The Cruzan Infusion Bucket sounds like something I could sip on all day long. I bet you enjoyed them both!
Goldie--Today is the last day of class. Sleepy head was wide awake and interacting yesterday. She'd worked the night before Monday's class. Showing up or not, paying attention or not, are all up to the students. The course comes with a guarantee that if they don't pass the licensing test the first time they can retake the course for free--IF they attended all the sessions and did all the online work. It's too bad your DH isn't interested in non-pharmaceutical ways of lowering his blood pressure. There are lots of approaches from limiting dietary salt to walking 5 minutes more a day to meditation and relaxation. But some people just don't go for that. Your Mom seems to be settling in well at the nursing home. She's figured out how to behave with the staff, and is still manipulating the family. Maybe time to turn the tables a bit? When she asks for something to be brought in have your brother tell her she can have it brought to her after her next shower. If she refuses the shower, she waits until next shower day. It will also put a bit of limit on how much gets brought in as she probably gets a shower once or twice a week. You or your brother could also talk to the nursing home social worker about what she wants brought in, maybe the social worker can help set some limits, like the curio cabinet is too big, or electronics have to pass inspection (and then fails). I've seen the slob factor in practice, not much that can be done except cleaning up as often as possible. It's such a challenge for all of you.
Chi--It sounds like Gordy has some good prospects coming up. Is he still looking for his own place? I've heard of cooking bacon in the microwave, does it make the bacon crispy? I often do a package of bacon in the oven using a wire rack on a cookie tray, line the cookie tray with aluminum foil unless I'm collecting the grease, gets nice and crispy and easy clean up. Makes the whole house smell like bacon, though. Mom does almost all her cooking in a toaster oven, I didn't realize how versatile those could be until recently. Ethiopian Yigracheffe is one of my favorite coffees! I'm lucky that a cooking store not too far from where I am house roasts beans including Yigrachiffe.
Looks like yesterday's DOTD didn't go through. I'll have to be more careful today!

Mornin' Ladies,
Kim school has started for you and u sound happy. Hey there's always one sleeper in a class, I know, U surprised sadie that cracks me up. U should take her to keep ur student awake or they could nap together. Ohh wearing heels, I don't even own any now... Shoes used to be a big deal to me, had loads now I wear whatever can take my swelling. LOL
Lori I understand why women come in and out of here, but a wedding would be fun to see pics and hear about it. Ur DH is really having a hard time with all of this. I have a big thing about BP, how high is it, and has it gone down somewhat. and what is he taking for pain, it's been a while now. U know there are so many things to take but sometimes it takes a while to balance what the best is for each person. I just remember it took months to get mine where it's bearable and yet I'm always nervous it's going to stop working, so I hope they find the right combination for him for relief. I was just giving u my take on ur mom's house, so if it doesn''t bother you I'm glad.
Sandy Gordy and Leslie sound like an interesting and fun couple. U must really enjoy them, altho they seem to have such different interests, it has to make them have more to talk about and enjoy.
I still didn't get my phone, cuz I know how dan is. He wants all perfection and he does try to make things as easy as he can for me. He now has them all set up just pressing a key. I would like to get started so I can get used to all this new stuff, but kinda like the free time I have.or my naps especially.
Leslie and Marty are going to WI for the Holiday weekend and Joey doesn't want to go. Witch is fine with me but he didn't want to go so we can spend the weekend together, watch scary movies and just talk. He said we never got to do this last summer <I was in rehab, most of it> so he wants to make sure we do it this summer.
Marty just left for work, we're all so happy, <him too> Jee we can't afford to pay attention let alone our bills, but we'll catch up. They have a surprise party to go to Saturday, so they won't be going to the restaurant, now Joey and I have to find a ride, who's got the room and lives close by us. If I feel like I can go, it shouldn't be hard to get a ride.
OK I'll be back.

Might have to try the bacon/microwave thing. However, I am not a fan of the microwave. Pretty much use it to heat my coffee up if necessary! DH uses it all the time. I could be wrong about the diagnosis. Not going to dig through tons of paperwork to look. Besides, doesn't really matter.NM, DH limiting salt....HA! All he eats is processed food. Too busy to walk and not really interested. His dr. even told him, just walk to the gate and back, 1/2 mile round trip, takes about 15 minutes. Plus with the current issues where he can hardly walk at all. One time I calculated his salt intake for one day, now mind you this isnt't every day, but that particular day he consumed over 10,000 mg salt. YES, I said 10,000. I mentioned to both of my brothers yesterday, that perhaps they could have one of the nurses, or someone, come in and tell her that she can't have all this stuff all over the place, it's a hazard for her and for the staff. She want's everything within reach and pretty much will get not even get out of bed. I called her yesterday morning, she said she was getting her nails done. Ok, I'll call you later. So I did, nails look great, pretty pink. My brother calls later in the day, asks did you get your nails done. She says no! There is nothing on them, not even clear. Did I post a picture of her desk at home? Anyways, besides the curio, she want these 4 large pictures, and her salt lamp. She has one plug that she has to use for her ipad and phone to charge. My brother told her that. She says "just bring it, I'll figure it out".
Cami, DH was taking Dilaudid (sp) and a steoid. Very high dose of the Dilaudid, so high that pain dr. wouldn't prescribe, or I should say couldn't, due to laws in regards to opioids. So now he is on a lower dose, until he gets the actual disc of his MRI and what ever else. He want's to see actual pictures, not the written report. GIRL, nothing you do or say would upset me. OMG, Joey loves you so much. Will be a good time for you and him, and also some private time for Leslie and Marty.
DH kidneys are fine, as I suspected. It just seems like he WANTS something serious! He says to me yesterday, I have to get better to take care of you. You know the day will come. WTF? I just said I don't think about those things! Onc for me tomorrow. Things got messed up for my relief care for my drugs. Part my fault and part onc office. They changed facility names, so fax was changed. Co pay relief doesn't know that. So when they faxed the papers, onc didn't get them. So my co pay expired. Oncs office said they maybe Honor Health will pick it up. It's only $100 for each of the 2, which is not a big deal, it's the point of the matter.

I found the desk picture, I did post it earlier. But you can see here. Everything within reach, putting stuff where every she can find room. There was stuff all over the floor, that was knocked over or whatever, she can't reach it or doesn't want to, so it was just left.
She is now 24 hours with a diaper. At home she would at least use her potty chair for BM's, not now! Sorry if TMI! Also, sort of brags about being on hospice. As she often says, "I'm hospice now, so I can get whatever I want, and sleep as much as I want".
You see how yellow those picture frames are. That is from nicotine. It wouldn't even come clean with bleach, I tried!
On the floor, which you can't see are snacks!

It has been a while since I have been on the site, it took a while to catch up with everyone. I love the vacation pictures and Destin is a nice area. My family all lives close so we are busy with all of them. Mothers day they were all at my house. My parents- 2 sisters and their spouses, children & grandchildren, and my children and grandchildren. My husband is retired and does a lot to help and usually has to pick up our daughters kids after school because she works late sometimes. If it runs too late then I take them home and get them ready for bed it helps her out, but tires me out for work the next day. So between work, home and family, I am not on the boards as much as I would like. I think of you all a lot and love to read about what's going on. I am happy when all is good and say a prayer for those going through a hard time.
