how about drinking?
Comments

what? Where is all the crazy stuff from last night? I needed a recharge...oh well...good stuff, thanks ladies...
-
Sam, may I drink American wines instead of beer? I really only like beer when it's hot out - and it's not hot here!!!
CG, I'm all for "spring drinking season" but we're having more snow today
so I think a hot toddy is more appropriate right now!
-
I am starting to drink wine more. BUt, I also like beer in the summer, when it is warm outside!
It is fun in the summer to sing.... 100 bottles of beer on the wall, 100 bottles of beer, take one down, pass it around, 99 bottles of beer on the wall...
Only with this group, I think we would run out of beer before we finish the song!!
Harley
-
Huh??? You're supposed to finish that song???
-
Nah, I never FINISH the song! I haven't sung that since I was a youngster, going on long car rides!! I don't know what made me think of it!!!
Cheers!Harley
-
I remember singing that song. A bunch of friends would get together and actually pass a beer around till it was gone and then go to the next number, etc etc. I know as the game progressed we couldn't remember what number we were on so had to, yes just had to, start all over again. Those were the days.
Jaybird, yes you may spend your rebate check on American wine, you have my permission.
Cheers
-
flyerzfan ... let me buy you a drink .. were you just dx'd? I see you've been a member since only 03/23/08 but I know that can be deceiving. I've been a member since 03/17/07 but my profile shows January '08 because I got rid of my old user name "angel42" and became simply "angel". How are you doing?
Cheers All!

Let's all raise our glasses to Linda....she has yet to post the events of her biopsy so lift 'em high ladies!!
Linda, we are thinking 'bout you girl............
Hugs, Traci
-
Hey Drinkin' Buds~
Linda - hang in there sister, we're keeping our fingers crossed.
Sam - LOVE your suggestion on the rebate check! I'm with J though, I'll probably spend mine on a CA or WA wine!
J - more snow? Crap that sucks! It was 85 here yesterday, gorgeous, and this morning it was 44. Whatever. High today supposed to be mid-50s.
Anyone have big weekend plans? I'm having lunch with my sister tomorrow so looking forward to that. She only lives 30 miles away, but she works from home, and I swear the girl never leaves her house. I can't believe she's driving ALL THE WAY to Tulsa tomorrow for lunch! LOL!
I'm sure we'll have a glass or two or so of wine with our lunch. We'll be sure and drink American wine to help boost our economy.
Cheers,
Donna
-
Traci, great idea, raising my glass to Linda too.
Donna, sounds like a great time this weekend! I have no plans myself and after last weekend being up all night with a toddler on Easter I'm looking forward to it!
So should I stop buying Australian wine and only buy American? What's good (and in my budget?)
Cheers All!
-
Here's to Linda! Hope the biopsy went well...
Happy weekend, girls!
Harley

Happy Friday!!
"

It's Friday - time to start drinking!!
-
Cheers to everyone. Whoo hoo - we had sun in Chicago today. Taking my pinot grigio and wishing you all a wonderful week-end.

My contribution to the American economy this evening: Ravenswood Vintners Blend 2001 California Merlot. Going to take it out back and enjoy the sunset.

Thanks gals! I could use a drink right about now. The biopsy went well...for a biopsy. A little sore and a bit bruised. Still no results. Monday at the earliest but it could be Tuesday or Wednesday. I am gonna pull out what little bit of hair I got! I'm getting out the blender tonight!
Linda
-
ahhhh! Back home for a bit and back on-line. No way to catch up with everyone and everything. Can only say there is only one seasonal drink--Miller Lite! It weathers all seasons well!!!
And, a room temperature ML is the best thing I've ever found to sooth an upset (hung over) stomach!!! LOL--I'll bet some of you are gagging!!!! But, I'm mainly a beer drinker!
DH is Scotch with ice and a splash of water during the winter and gin and tonic or vodka and lemonade when it's hot ( Y U K)
catch you all later!! hugggsssss, junie
-
LOVE the cartoon, Chemosabi!
As soon as the weather breaks (like, July???) you should come over and drink some wine with me!
Angel, there are a lot of decent CA reds for $10-$15. There are cheaper reds, too, but my taste buds don't like them. Many stores will give you 5% off if you buy 6 or more bottles and Whole Foods gives 10%. Buy in bulk I say!
-
Junie - don't know how you can drink a room temp beer - I need mine ice cold. Maybe that's why I drink them so fast.
Any bb fans - Final Four here we come - GO KU!!!! KU is playing NC whose coach use to be KU's - should be an excellent game and a good reason to have a drink or two or three.
Cheers
-
Jaybird, that's in my budget, I'll check them out! buying in bulk is a Great idea but Only once you know you like it! lol
Junie, ML is my favorite light beer.
Sam, not a BB fan but love sports in general and when a coach story like that happens it's always fun!
Linda, waiting to hear and crossing all things.
March is Out of Here!!! I think that's a Great reason to drink!
Cheers All!
-
HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!!!
I'll drink to that!Harley
-
Wow.....8 years ago......on 4/1.....I left my husband.
SHOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
"R O C K C H A L K J A Y H A W K S----G O K U" !!!!!!! Needless to say, DH is a big KU fan and is happy right now. (He didn't graduate from KU, but early in our marriage, he had 3 kids enrolled there--he has deep financial ties to the place!!! LOL!!!
Traci--did your hubby think it was a joke when you left him on April Fool's Day!!??
Sam--did you get the rain again today? Think we got about 2 inches and had horrible winds. The tornadic activity was again north of us. About half of my "thousand" daffodils are laying on the ground--beat down by heavy rain. If we'd just get a day or two of sunshine they'd perk back up. I'm so sick of rain and more is in the forecast!
Bummer weather--all the more reason to drink! Bottoms Up!!!

More good news to celebrate: my CA-125 test came back 'normal'! Had a draw last week and the vial leaked (???) so had a draw yesterday and my gyne called this a.m. with the 'good' news! She REALLY wants me to have my ovaries out but I'm really liking having what little estrogen I DO have. QOL, ya know?
Cheers!
-
Oh, I just knew if I found you nuts I'd laugh! Yes Angel..I was just diagnosed on 3/21...and a whirlwind of activity has ensued...I am scheduled for a blm and sentinel node biopsy on 4/10...I'm having the DIEP recon so ~ trying to look at the upside: smaller boobs = better golf game, DIEP = flatter tummy, Hormone therapy = no more periods (I hope)...Toss 'em back ladies...there is always something going on we can celebrate!!
-
Here's to you, Flyrzfan! I'll knock a few back tonight in your honor! Good luck with everything!
-
Traci
Happy Independence Day!
Harley
-
Cheers! I'm off to work early in the a.m. and then don't get to come home until Sunday morning - ack! My poor mother has to watch Avery for three entire days!
I get to fly up and down the Eastern seaboard for three days. No time to drink until Sunday so I'll be back here then!
-
Ok...it's safe to say, I need a drink! I was diagnosed on Monday with DCIS. I meet with my surgeon tomorrow and surgery's been scheduled for April 22. Yesterday I saw my PS and if all goes well, I'll be having another Mastectomy and both expanders placed during surgery. If anything looks shaky, I've told him to leave me flat and I'm done. My DIL pointed out that this must be the reason my TRAM failed. Now that I'll have a level field, it can only go up!
Traci - on 4/1 I married my ex! It would have been our 25th Anniversary...YAK!
I need a Purple Hooter Shooter!
Linda
