Mary, sounds wonderful. Love the bread you dip in the oil with seasonings.
Did you all watch the Derby? I will be at the Preakness in two weeks. Cannot wait to get away for a few days.

Wow Janie, that sounds like fun. Have you been up there before? I bet once on a horse because it's name was "Fast Sal" and my grandma's name was Sally; well actually Sarah but you didn't want to call her that so she went by Sal, AKA Sally. She gave herself that nickname. I always liked Sarah but boy, she didn't. Well my horse lost but I thought Fast Sal was a good reminder of my grandma, she could drink a beer faster than anyone so "Fast Sal" sounded pretty lucky, but it wasn't. I hope you have a great time and I am sure you will. Well they called off the craft show today because we had 35 mile an hour winds and we couldn't hardly stand up so we came home. It was too cold, too wet and muddy from all the rain yesterday. Oh well. I gotta go. Bailey is spending the night and we are going to play cards. Later and have a great wk. end girls. Hugs, Mare
-
No Mary, I have never been to Baltimore. Been to D.C. which is very close to there. Your Fast Sal story cracked me up. Can't wait to get away if only for a few days. Work is ridiculously overwhelming at the moment. Later Ladies, Janie

Well that should be a nice little vacation. I always wanted to go to the New England states. I want to see Salem Mass. and eat lobster in Maine and drive along the coast and visit the Capes. I would like to start in N. Carolina and end up in Nova Scotia. Well I hope you relax and enjoy yourself. Gas is $2.75 a few miles away where my sister lives. We are at 2.65 and we have to go to Springfield for hubby Dr. apt. tomorrow so I am going to gas up now before it goes up here which will be any time. Hope things calm down at work for you Janie. Hi to Paula and Nancy Lee. Hugs, Mare
-
UH, gas is 3.65 and 3.75 not 2.65 and 2.75. Gosh, I need help....Mare
-
Wow! Mary! I was already packing my bags ready to move to IL for the much cheaper gas! It was 3.65 or so a few days ago and now "back down" to around 3.57.
We went to Boston once and drove up the coast and visited New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. It was a good trip. We stayed one night in the "Stradford Inn" from the Newhart show. It is now the Westberry or something like that. Starts with a "w". My memory is going fast.
Later gators,
j
-
Yea well don't pack too quickly Janie, it is 3.75 now. Crap, we won't be able too drive to Wally pretty soon. We used to watch Newhart. I bet that was neat. I bet the whole trip was beautiful. Gosh, you should spend a day with the absent-minded tool man and me. Between the two of us it is like a zoo of monkeys. I naturally am the smartest of the Primates around here. We blame each other for what we can't find and make up an excuse when we realize what we lost was right where we left it, except for each other. We tend to move around and tool man is soo jumpy he jumps and yells when I walk out of a room and he don't expect me to be there. That goes on all day. This guy is just a barrel of fun. I can scare him a hundred times and when he jumps he almost falls. Yea, it is pretty much a clamity around here. One would think he would be used to me being here after 38 years huh? Well I better go. I baked cupcakes for soon to be 6 year old grandson's birthday at school Kaden. He insisted I bake them. I did and they turned out right nice if I must say so myself. I decorated them and I was proud because I am not artistic at all. Well I gotta go. Later girls and hi to Paula and N.L. Hugs, Mary

Hi, girls,
Looks like you're both busy as bees as usual. Not much up here. We went to San Antonio last weekend and had a fun time. Nathan was able to tell me much about the Alamo I didn't know. Of course, I knew very little anyway. Hotels were great (Priceline). The drive back was horrendous, we seriously almost bought the farm twice as it was pouring out and I35 here is just packed all the time because it's the only North-South route through the state practically.
Anyway, so I was thrilled to get home in one piece. Nathan is thrilled there's only 3.5 weeks of school left. Actually, so am I.
Hope you guys have a lovely mother's day weekend. I've got to work Saturday night, and we've got to bomb again Saturday for fleas (yuk). But Sunday, Sunday should be good. -
Hey girls, I hope everyone has something special planned for mommie's day. P.J. it sounds like a wonderful trip. I want to see Texas when we get out and on the road, I have only been through the nort part. I wish I would have read a little more and studied more than cheated on my tests in school because I would now know a lot more about history and what I did learn I have either gotten mixed up like "Lee shot Ceaser and won the battle of the Boston Tea Party" or I am just clueless. My brother-in-law calls me every once in a while and asked me some stupid history question like I know! What the hell is so boring in his life he has time to think this crap up anyway. It's not easy being me. Glad you made it home in one o.k. The toolman is starting to drive like he repairs things, yea; it's a little nerve wrenching to be in a vehicle with him now. I am going to put a supply of valium in the glove comp. He is just stupified at the way they just up and put in a stop sign for no reason and it was not there yesterday. He thinks a yellow light means go like hell and prey for the best. He idles right through most stop signs and slams on his breaks for stopped traffic and askes if I saw the break lights, I have to say yea, I saw them 5 blocks ago where were you? Wanna go on a trip across the country with us this fall? Well, I sure hope everyone has a great wk. end and wonderful Sunday. Later little gaters, hugs, Mare
-
Hey Paula, do you get to report on the Bush wedding? That would be cool because of all the great food they will have and the people that will be there. Hugs, Mare
-
Hey, Mary, alas the Bush wedding is as impenetrable as the Bush White House. No media allowed near. We do have a reporter out there reporting on the doings (primarily buying of mugs with the newlyweds' pics) in Crawford.
If you need a few laughs, go to wacotrib.com and look at the "In Like Quinn" videos of our reporter getting her hair done, looking for a dress and waiting hopelessly for her invitation...... -
Hey P.J. that was funny. Happy Mom's day everyone. I hope everyone a had a great one. We are all still here so thats great right there. Well I have to get clothes outta the dryer before they burn up. Later girls, Mare
-
Hey All! I am in Baltimore. Will fly home tonight and I took tomorrow off to recuperate before going back to the jungle. Thoroughly enjoyed the race yesterday. The tickets were good for all day so we arrived around noon and spent many hours there. I wore my big ol hat, and yes, I did have a black-eyed susan (Preakness version of Derby's mint julip). Big Brown is beautiful, and barring complications, I expect him to win the triple crown.
I had no idea Baltimore is full of old historic buildings. They have a Washington Momument that predates the one in D.C. Patrick and Jessie have given us a whirlwind tour.
PJ, my hometown is only a few miles from Davy Crockett's birthplace ... a tiny one room log house. I have seen bathrooms bigger than it is.
Well, gotta git. We have lots planned before our flight leaves. Later Ladies, have a great day. Oh yes, I almost forgot, Mary, my Mother's Day was wonderful, as I know yours was.
-
Hey Janie, glad your having a great time. I saw a little news cap about the race. I bet you looked beautiful as a Southern Bell. Have a great wk. end girls. I am fighting allergies and with the wind all that pollen; it is a blowing, sniff...sniff.. Later girls. Hugs, Mary
-
Janie, sounds fun! I've always wanted to go to one of those big races. I followed them like crazy when I was a kid. (Anyone remember Sham? He was my favorite)
Not much up here. Had a lovely if not thrilling weekend. Now I need to go around the house and scrounge for garage sale stuff for next weekend. I pretty much got rid of most everything last time around, but, hey, I've got a few things....
Later girls. -
Holy crap, how cool is this? I forgot I'd passed my fourth anniversary of diagnosis!
-
Hey P.J. Congrats!!!! Heres a toast to to another 4 years, cheers. Gosh, time flies when you aren't looking. Well heres a Big Bear Hug to you. Have a good day girls. Mare
-
Congrats PJ!!!!!!! That means "it" is not infiltrating your mind so much anymore.
How's your allergies Mary? Or maybe I should say how are you with those nasty allergies lurking around.
I did not remember Sham but certainly remember Secretariat, his competition. I probably knew all about the rivalry back then but have forgotten it. Too bad he was the same age as Secretariat, but still looks like he gave him a run for his money. Remember Cannonero II? He was like a 30-1 odds horse. He was allowed to run but was not one of the "good ol boys" if you know what I mean. Not expected to do well at all. Well, he ended up taking two of the three triple crown races.
Congrats again PJ. Mary, hope you feel better and enjoy the grandkids who must be about ready to be out for the summer. Our kid's last day is tomorrow. Then only 3 postplanning days for me next week.
Later Ladies,

Hey Girls, has anyone heard from N.L.? Hope she is doing o.k. We are taking the camper to a craft show about an hour away. Hubby is dying to take it somewhere. This should be good because he has read all the books and has no idea what he is doing as far as setting it up. The craft show is Sat. and Sun. so we are leaving today so we can set up this evening and won't have to tomorrow morn. early. We are camping at a lake, oh how nice; SNAKES!!!! And if thats not enough my allergies!!!! They have never been this bad but everyones is because all the rain. I wanted the camper to go out west not actually camping. This should be real fun. This camp ground doesn't have wifi. and no cable and we can't get our little T.V. to work on antenna or my little flat screen in the kitchen. We do have a vcr in the one little t.v. so I guess I will take movies. Theres a limit to how much conversation we can produce with each other before it gets boring or he says something completely stupid and I let him know. Whos idea was this camper thing? Well he may not come home but I will see you girls Mon. Janie, we are out in a few days too. Glad you are going to get some time to just relax maybe. Hope you all have a great holliday wk. end. I remember Secretariat. Theres a lot I don't remember but it amazes me what pops up sometimes. I better get and get ready so I will return. Snakes! oh my God!!!! I REALLY hate them things. Hugs, Mare
-
Mary,
I hope you have a great little "camping trip" and sell lots of stuff. Snakes! Yuck! A few weeks ago the guy who has mowed my lawn a couple of times told me there had been a big black snake under my deck. Also said they were good to have around?!?!? I know they eat pests etc., but I have a hard time thinking any snake is good to have around.
Hey PJ, Nathan must be getting out soon now. Yesterday was our kid's last day. I have Tues-Thursday post planning and then I am out for a while. Hurray!

Well we are home and boy! did it rain! We packed up today. We were there about an hour and it stormed and poured and the ground was flooded in spots so we got soaked packing and it is good to be home. We did have fun camping. We were just right on the lakes edge and it was a pretty lake. Gosh, we made our space rent and camping expenses Sat. and that was all but it was a nice trip except the rain. I think we could of done good today if it hadn't rained. Oh well, theres next wk. end and the rest of the summer. Gosh some people really make neat stuff to sell. Some people go to garage sales and get junk like a couple glass drinking glasses and a flower pot that is ugly and a rug and odds and ends of tupperware etc. and they sell this junk right and left!!!! That crap sells the most!!! The people with no money come to my booth and the people with all their diamonds and expensive handbags go to the junk booths and buy like he#*. I am in the wrong business. One gal dug these crappy plants(green) up from a field by her house and put them in a foam cup and sold 45 for $3.00 each and sold them all! She said she buys and finds free crap in the trash and sells all of it and makes a couple thousand dollars a wk. end. I am totally not selling the right stuff! Oh well, maybe a couple more years it will be better. It sure can't be any worse. Janie!!!! A Snake? Oh My God girl!!!!! Are all your drain and water pipes good and sealed? Wow, I tell ya, if I want to kill myself all I have to do is let one on me and that will be all she wrote, good night Irene! I am not afraid of being bitten just watching them crawl, theres something about the way they slither that I just can't stand. The way they wrap around your arm oh crap I am getting myself all tensed up, enough of that. I will dream about them and I don't want that. Hubby is even worse than I am. He however can tolerate them If he sees them first and screams and carries on a while then he can shoot them or run and leave me in the woods but I can't tollerate them at all. I can touch hubby's leg with a stick and he will jump and holler thinking it is a snake. Gosh; I can do it like every couple minutes and he will jump and holler every time! He is so much fun and apparently has a pretty strong heart too. I am however not ill at ease with really big ones like Boas or Pythons that are 6ft. or larger. I am pretty screwed up huh Janie? They don't slither like little ones do and you only see them slither on t.v. so in a cage at the zoo they are just there ya know? They don't move much and I touched a big one but I about passed out. Grandson was there and he wanted to touch it and I didn't want him to have the fear I do so I did it. I will never do it again but I am glad I did it once. It wasn't slimmy like I thought it to be but it was a snake non the less. Well, good luck Janie but I think a cat to get the mice and rats would be a good option. Someone told me when I lived in Fla. that cats scared snakes away but you hear all kinds of things. Oh well. Hope ya all have a good Memorial Day. Hugs, Mare
-
Hey everybody,
Hope all is well with eveybody. Mary, have you dried out yet? It is very hot here even at 8:18 p.m. Only two more days until my break. Will be glad to ignore the alarm clock for a while. I can even watch some of my late night shows without worrying about having to get up the next day.
Anybody watch the American Idol finale. Both finalists were sweet little guys. I would have been happy either way it went. Both were also very talented.
Later ladies,
Janie

Oh, Janie, I was so glad David Cook won. Archie was cute but so predictable.
Mary, isn't it amazing what people will buy when they think they're getting a deal? Instead of spending money on something nice, they go for junk. People are so weird.
Had a nice (hot) weekend. Didn't do much, but that made it really great. We DID buy a new frig. Our is 15 years old and I'm sure it's an energy hog. It's getting a little rough-looking, but runs fine. But we bought a new, more efficient, cooler (in style) frig because last weekend you didn't have to pay state sales tax (8.25 percent for us) on stuff like that. So, why not? There goes that federal check....
So one sister is moving down here (to San Antonio) in a few weeks. I'm flying up to Baltimore and we're driving back together (well, with her dog, too, oh boy). Fly there and leave on the same day. Should be interesting. But it'll be great to have her just 3 hours away. My mom sure is sick of moving her tho. She went and helped her move out of her townhouse into a rental just about 2 months ago and is going back up in a week to help her pack again and move... Blech.
Hope you all are staying dry. Janie, I hope you find some time to relax this summer. Nathan's out in a week. We ALL can't wait. -
I agree that David Cook showed that he was an overall better performer, and also, has the maturity that is needed in that hectic world. I think he had more to do with his own arrangements than Archie did. It appears that DA's dad had a lot to do with his. Although after he was banned, I thought Arch actually did a little better. Maybe Dad was putting a lot of pressure on him. I saw where DA plays 7 instruments including the glockenspiel. I would have liked to have seen him work that into a number. lol However, I just love DC's personality and the stamina he has even though during the competition, he heard his brother's cancer is back with a vengeance after his being in remission. That had to be hard on DC to keep up with all that is required of them with that lying heavy on his mind and heart.
Hey, we just missed one another in Baltimore! Isn't the harbor beautiful especially at night!
Hey Mary. Are you selling again this weekend? I hope the weather accommodates you this time. There are probably some poison ivy vines etc. growing close to that lake. Take some styrofoam cups along and ??!?! Or collect lake water in some small vials and sell them as a "touch of the outdoors" to carry with you. There are always insects for ready made science projects. Hey, there are all kinds of stuff you could sell to these junk dealers....
Have a great weekend ladies.

Hope everyone has a great wk. end. Hugs, Mary

Hi Mary, My weekend is alright. Did you do well today? PJ, have you made the trip to help your sister move yet? I do not envy you that task.
Poor Big Brown lost the Belmont. He was ready to go a couple of times and was held back until the jockey was ready to let him go and said there was no horse left. Maybe the horse thought "ok, you do not want me to run so I won't." I do hope he is ok. They think he is. It was in the high 90's in NYC today so that certainly could be a factor. Wish I had a bet on the winner.
Hugs to all }}}}}}}}}}}}}

Hi, girls.....
Yeah, Janie, wish I'd had about 100 bucks or more on that Belmont winner..... Poor Big Brown....
Leave Saturday for the trip with my sister. I'm hoping it'll be fun, but, well.... Got a couple of books to listen to on my ipod and a bunch of music, so at least we'll have a good soundtrack. Cross your fingers for good weather for us.
Mary, any more shows?
I actually had a great (3-day) weekend. Nothing big,but just an enjoyable time.
Have a good rest of the week, girls. Janie, too bad Georgia isn't on our itinerary. Seems like we got through almost every other southern state. -
PJ,
Have a great trip and I hope the work is not too rough, especially in the heat. It is sweltering in GA, so you may be glad you miss it. Stay safe and have a good trip.
Mary, good luck in all you have to do.
Later Ladies,
Janie

Hey girls, Have a great trip P.J. and Janie relax and enjoy the air cond. We had a good fair but it did storm like heck twice and made things a little soggy. We are leaving Thurs. morning for a fair about an hour away. We are taking the camper and putting it on the lake there. It is a 4 day show and nothing starts until 5p.m. so we will have time to enjoy the lake. I am still sick with nausea off and on and pain so its been 2 wks. and I am seeing the Dr. tomorrow. I think maybe gallstones but who knows. I was to see onky Thurs. for my last 6 mo. check and go to a year but we will be gone so I am going Mon. to onky. I got a copy of my blood work from the hosp. already and it is great so I will go to a year now I guess. My daughter said the other day gosh mom has it been over 4 years already? It seems like it wasn't that long ago. I said yea, time flies when your trying to live. It seems like a while since all the yuckiness but my memory is so poor I forget time anyway thank goodness. Well you girls have a great evening. I will talk to yous later.Hugs,Mary
