Oh Anna, he is adorable. this one is cute too
-
Wow walked today over 2 miles! I felt a little tired at the end but it is very doable. We have a new trail and it is just down from my house and by the creek all the way so it was cooler. Then had subway for dinner. The pictures from the week -end sent me into deep shock
. You will see below.
Anna~ what a great picture! He is so very cute, and that hair ! So thick and dark....yours looks thick too
Wanted to share pictures of Camp Creek Falls in WV State Park this past week-end with the kids. It was beautiful there. Yes, I'm a country girl
in every way. Which reminds me
Deb, this afternoon Michael said to me,
Quote , I'm going to go to the store "RIGHT QUICK" I never paid attention till after you said that. I'm also guilty. OMG, you all are in for a country twang when you meet me.
Sorry there are so many pictures
.
Me in the brown shirt, Jess in the pink.....Cory way up stream.
And that kid who knows?
Cory and Sebastian
Jessie and Sebastian
Hayden and her mommy
Hayden and Gram!
The falls
Hayden in the tent asleep
Sebastian in my bed watching cartoons.

Nancy, I won't relocate, in fact I am looking for something closer to home. Time and gas wise it would be smarter. Also I want to return to the Mental Health field. I believe it is time.
That is why I have started to walk and try to eat a little better. The neuropathy kills me at times. But is much better than a year ago. I'm blessed to be able to do what I do.
Anna~ It is cooler in Virginia tonight. Going to be in the low 60's....The door is open and a cool breeze is flowing through. It was about 96 and 100% humidity this past week-end. That's why we headed to the falls.
Love to all my SISTERS

It's so good to see so many posts once again from our sisters!
Odalys-how's work going these past few days? I am so sorry about the stress.ML-keep us updated on your job hunt, too! I cracked up at the "Right-quick" quote!!! ha ha ha!!!
Nancy-you are cracking me up, too. I like the statement that Anna can use her hubby as a substitute to pat his bare bottom rather than her sweet grandbaby. Funny lady!
Daniel is my hero. He is getting e-stim done on his tricep and fingers to help avoid the major tone in his arm (he is getting tighter and tighter, which is common in spastic hemiplegia CP). They did it on me so I'd know what he feels, and I was amazed to see that it is EXACTLY like my MS feels on my feet (lots of tingly, constant motion).
He did it twice so far, and is just amazing. He yelled at the guy the first time, "STOP DOING THAT!" and hated it. Yesterday, he played the entire hour and didn't complain once. They even had turned up the "juice" on it. When he got home, he was dancing in circles, and he stops. "Mommy! Look! My arm is down!"
It's working on him. Another tear-jerker for Mommy.
Love and prayers, Deb -
BTW-Margerie, thank you for offering your "turf" for our visit! I am so excited.

Update: Got my 2 miles in today!
It was a little hot , but I pushed through.
We went to the fair tonight, got to see Jake Owen. He was very good. I love country music. You can Google his name and listen to his song Ghost. Or use this link if it works.
He is a young guy and very little. But has a voice of a "MAN" It was great. I stood up and danced , so there was some more exercise. His smile was really nice too.
Michael didn't go, he was tired. My step daughter took me. She had free passes. So it was a good girls night out.
Deb~ so glad everything is going well. We need some updated pictures of you guys too....He is growing so fast.
I agree it is so much better with all of us here. Well I'm tired, need to see what is going on in active topics.
Hugs

ML - those grand kids are so adorable. Love all the pics.
Well next Friday evening we will be on our way to Pinkstock. I still don't have the time off approve so I am planning on flying out on Friday evening after work and returning Sunday afternoon. I can't wait. Wow, I'm so excited to meet the Circle Girls and all the other bc.org sisters that will be attending. I will take lots of pics and will share them with you al. This weekend I need to get busy packing and getting things ready. Woohooo....it's going to be so much fun!
-
Odalys, you sound so excited and I feel the same about our September reunion. Pinkstock sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to celebrate. Do you take sleeping bage? What are the accommodations. Who all is going? We will be with you in spirit.
Love, love, love the pictures Mary Lou. It looks like a perfect place and a perfect day with grandbabies. The pictures really help, don't they. Deb, Margerie how about more current ones and include you. I've seen the back of Anna's head and Deb's head and am crazy with envy about the thickness of your hair (yours, too, Mary Lou) but I'd like to see you.
For those with neuropathy, are you taking anything for it? I recently switched from 900 Neurontin to 300 Lyrica. Not as effective on my feet, but eases other aches/pains. Deb, I also had had e-stim for my neuropathy in the form of a little battery pack zapper that was attached behind my ear. It would cycle every 10 minutes (I think it was 10) and you could feel the current and sometimes the zap. The idea was to reroute signals to/from brain and feet. It was somewhat effective, but I could not get it wet which meant no showers or water classes. The benefit was not worth the tradeoff, so I went back to the drugs.
Have you all had your Vitamin D levels checked. As you may know, there has been a lot of press coverage lately about Vitamin D and survivability of bc. I know they are looking at the study which involved Canadian women--skeptics say those women are not getting their daily dose via sunshine. Nonetheless, I had mine checked at it is 16 (should be about 50). Doctor says that another study showed that people diagnosed with fibromyaligia have been misdiagnosed in many cases. Turns out that there Vitamin D levels were also low and once they corrected that, the muscle cramps and ungoing pain resolved itself. This could be important.
How goes the reservations? I'm waiting to see if you all are coming into Reno or Sacramento.
Friend invited me to lunch today and towards the end of lunch asked if I was dating again. I told her "no", it hadn't occured to me. She then went on to tell me she saw Ron and he introduced her to his new friend. I think she was disappointed that I already knew and have encouraged him to date. People are so funny.
I hear a mother bird going crazy outside, so better see what is going on. Have a great evening.
Love,
Nancy

Hey ladies,
Just a quick note-I drove Daniel to his "Grandma and Grandpa's" (not by blood, but by love), and it is late. We are spending the weekend working HARD on the house to put it on the market, so think good thoughts for us, please!
Nancy-very interesting about the Vitamin D and fibro! I don't know if you knew about all the pain issues I have. It's been an ongoing battle for me since chemo and I can't get docs to find the root of the issue for me. Ack! Now I know something else to suggest looking into!Love and prayers, Deb
-
Nancy - Yes, I am thrilled to be able to go to Pinkstock this year. Since we are flying it will only be Steven and I. DH does not want to fly and will probably be working next weekend. There are over 20 bc.org ladies and their families going this year. I think we will sleep in a camper. It will only be for Friday and Saturda night. Since I didn't get my vacation approved I will save the time and see if I can take it in Sept for our reunion. I'll be shopping around for air fair because the current rates are unbelieveavle.
Deb - you are selling your house again? Where are you moving to this time? I can't beging to imaging all that packing and unpacking...yuck.
Got to get going now, lots to do today. Love and hugs,
-
Wow, this board is busy again...so glad to see life. Nancy , I too have had such pain in my legs. I really thought it was weight and long hours at work. But when on leave for my Lat Flap I wasn't on my feet and the pain is worse. I may check into the Vitamin D thing too.
I agree we need more pictures
....load up gals....
Odalys~ Have a wonderful time at pinkstock....you need a break in action for sure after the stress you have been through. BTW, thanks for the baby comments.
We all went to the fair last night too. I wanted to get pictures of Sebastian's first rides. He was so funny to watch. And yes I have pictures.
I walked 2 miles again yesterday, but my legs kill me.....I guess I will just have to keep on keeping on.
Deb~ Moving again so soon? Packing is such a pain, I could hardly get through our yard sale. And on top of that with a little one.
Anna ~ More pictures please.....
Now here are the pictures of last night....
Sebastian with his cousin, wondering
why it didn't move yet...LOL
The roller coaster was the one he wanted to ride
over and over.
And Here is Hayden just doing what
she does best....Look cute! Her bib
says's Let's focus on Me!
-
Mary Lou - your grandchids have your beautiful blue eyes. Oh I just wish I could give them a hug and kiss their feautiful faces. I love babies. Too bad I can't drive by your place to meet you this time around. I do hope we can meet in September.
Anna - I know why the instructions I gave you for posting a link did not work. Instead of copying the "IMG code" you need to copy the "Direct Link" code onto the tree icon above. Then you get your picture... like this...
Sorry for the confusion and any inconvenience. I am used to using the original instructions for posting pics on the other board I belong to. Anyway, I hope the confusion does not prevent you from posting pics because we love to see those pics. Keep them coming.
BTW - did everyone niced Anna's big smile in the picture where she is holding the baby? She is absolutely glowing!!!! We don't get to see too many pics of her and she looks great.. doesn't she?

Oh you guys, my son is going to be mortified when he is an adult and knows I posted these pics!
How cute is the brushing the teeth with a party hat on while wearing a pull up and jammies top?!?!
He didn't want to put down his giant lollipop while on the potty, and it was obviously a bit messy of a treat.....
-
ps-now you see my hair AND face!
-
PPS-Yep, we are trying to move AGAIN!
Greg's commute is WAAAAAY too long-about an hour.... -
Deb - those pics are priceless!!! Wow, your hair is so long. Amazing, it seems like yesterday we lost our hair and then thought it would never grown back out.
-
Oh guys, I love those pictures! Kids and roller coasters are memories in the making. Daniel looks like my Steve at that age. I love the multi-tasking on the throne and making a party out of brushing his teeth. I love the pix of the three of you, too. You are so young! Moving again??? How is the housing market in your part of the country. I can appreciate how a long commute can really wear on all of you. I hope it is as painless as possible.
Mary Lou, I am very impressed with 2 miles. More than I could do. I am keeping up with the water aerobics and miss then when I can't attend. Its nice when it becomes a habit and even better when it becomes a joy. Treated myself to a 1-1/2 hour massage on Saturday.
I felt like warm jello when I left. Massages should be mandatory for all of us. The ongoing pain that many of us experience is something oncologists don't really talk about. Between the neuropathy of Taxol, the joint pain of Arimidex, the heart issues of Herceptin, psoratic arthritis, and age, I don't know if I will ever be pain-free again. I'm so lucky to have that warm water pool -- it turns back the clock every time.
Going to watch "In Plain Sight" and then off to bed. Goodnight, sweet sisters.
-
LOL Deb, Daniel sure is a multi-tasker!
I admit I am too lazy to repost since I post updates and photos on my blog
please forgive me! but check out the blog if you have time
Massages are great Nancy!! I should treat myself more. Have any of you tried a hot stone massage? my favorite.........
Off for back-to-school-shopping part two. I can not find jeans for my oldest. Even the skinny jeans in size slim fall off him.....
-
Trip is about 7 weeks away !!!!!!
Marg~ Don't worry about posting, you
have to much on your plate as it is. I
remember how it was when the kids
were out of school.
And school shopping, wow what a chore.
With the slim jeans, have you thought of just
doing shorts from the toddler section? They
run pretty big, just in jeans they are to short.
Cory was a skinny child, ( Up till he married and joined the army.)
He was able to wear his jeans for a
long time....We just got new shoes
and shirts till about Christmas.
That seemed to be when he changed
sizes the most.
Sorry I can't post any thing more, I have to
take MIL to the doctor. She doesn't do the interstate.
Love to you all, I will return at some point.
-
Deb~ Pictures are to cute, I love when everything is new to them.....
And yes he will kill you for underwear pictures on the web! LOL
