BAD DREAM
MY NAME IS DALEN I'M 36YRS OLD FIRST TIME ON THIS SITE. ALL I KNOW IS ME AND MY HUSBAND IS TRYING TO HAVE A BABY FOR 9 YRS. I GOT MY FIBROID REMOVED LAST MAY 30,08 THEN MY DOCTOR IS GONNA GIVE ME A LUPRON INJECTION FOR 6 MONTHS TO SUPPRESS THE LEFT OVER FIBROID AND IF IT GOES WELL THEN WILL PROCEED TO HAVE INVITRO FERTILIZATION OR IVF. BUT PLAN CHANGED JULY 22,08 I GOT DIAGNOSED W/ BREAST CANCER. MY DOCTOR SAID THE GOOD THING IS I GOT IT AT EARLY STAGE IT DOESNT SPREAD YET. MY SURGERY IS ON THURSDAY JULY 31,08 MY DOCTOR'S ADVICE IS TO GO FOR LUMPECTOMY W/ RADIATION THERAPY BUT MY BESTFRIEND SUGGEST TO GO FOR MASTECTOMY. NOW I'M CONFUSED! THIS IS MY BODY, MY ONLY LIFE!!! I WANNA GET OUT OF THIS BY MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION. BUT I DON'T KNOW RIGHT NOW WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO THINK,WHAT TO DECIDE.

I am so sorry that you are having this bad dream.. It is a horrible feeling, trying to find your way out and make these decisions. You could try for the lumpect. and the pathologist will check the margins. If they are clean, you should be okay, but if they come back with cancer at the margins, they can then go in and do a mastectomy. That would be something to talk to your breast surgeon about. We are glad that you found us here on this site. There is a wealth of information available, and the support that is here can not be rivaled. Good luck with making all of these tough decisions, and if you have any questions, please visit us and ask away. Seems like there is always someone around here who has been through what you are going through. (I am only 29, diagnosed at 28 with breast cancer! So there are younger gals like you around too!!! I always thought that breast cancer was only in older women.)
