Hey ladies, I will be having scans in August and I cant hardly stand the thought of it , I am really nervous about this they will be my first since my treatment ended , chemo ended on new years eve and radiation in April , how do you prepare for these I am so scared they will find something even though the tumor was completely gone at the time of my lumpectomy and my surgeon says everything will be fine , it consumes me every day just thinking about what might be.Any help to get through this would be much appreciated

    Hi Tina!

    I was diagnosed in February 2002 and finished treatment in October 2002. I still get nervous before every mammogram, and I don't think it will ever change. Usually I schedule these for a Friday so that when all is well, I can celebrate. Each year it gets better, but only by a little bit. But someday you will obsess over it only for a few days before, and then will have long spells when you do not even think about it any more.
