That was so much fun... looking at all the pictures and seeing everyone's beautiful families.  I will have to get it together and post some before, during and after pics too.  I loved seeing everyones pets as well.  We have three cats now and in a debate over getting a dog.  Anyone own or know of someone that has a Shiba-Inu?  My husband wants one of those.  I want an Australian Shepherd.

You know the best thing about all these pics.. makes cancer seem like just part of our lives rather than taking over our entire lives! kwim? to see everyone doing fun, normal things is cool.

Gorgeous Wintermoon- All the Pictures.  Lovely Daughter.  The top one from today- I thought you were posting a picture of you before you lost your hair. The blonde is very cute too.

    MJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Your grandson is adorable!!!!!!

Do you have a pic of you on here?  A BIG PIC like all of mine? LOL  (I've no idea how to make them smaller!)  I know you use to be on your avatar.

How are you feeling?  Are you healing up from your radiation recall?  Am seeing surgeon tomorrow and am certainly asking about that!   Hope you are having a lovely summer.

    Love, Lori

    Hey, Lori!

Yes, I posted several BIG photos earlier in this thread, but I need to put a recent one on to show off my long (1 inch) locks!  Laughing  I can't bring myself to replace Mason's avatar photo with mine... it's a granny thing, you know Wink

I am doing great, thanks!  I feel great and I can really tell that the "chemo brain" thing has worn off-- I'm getting my groove back, especially at work.  I have almost healed from the rad. recall, but I'm still sore and little pink.  I'm seeing my surgeon tomorrow too!  I plan to voice my distress over the mammo thing.

I hope you are doing well and hopefully work is going good.  My summer has been great, especially compared to last summer, which was a real bummer (rhymes!).  Now, if I can just lose this chemo weight... Cry

Good luck tomorrow and let us know what your surgeon says.  Take care!

    MJ

Ok, then I must scroll back and look for you.  I was scrolling this thread at work the other day (shhh...don't tell anyone) and had to skip through as I was supposed to be working!  I must have missed you.  This is a great thread.  It's so nice to see all these beautiful women and their families.  As someone else posted here, it helps you to remember that there is life outside of breast cancer.  Life does indeed go on.

Hi! Well, I won't tell on you if you won't tell on me-- I'm supposed to be working too, but hey, there's time for that... And like you said, it is so nice to remember that there is life beyond B.C. and life does go on, and wonderfully too!  I'll try to post a recent photo shortly... MJ

Well, here goes-- this is not a flattering photo at all, but at least it shows my punk rocker/chemo mullet hairstyle pretty well (and my double chin Cry)  It was taken at a school board meeting the other night about 8 p.m., really close to my bedtime! Wink

Hey I like your punk rocker/chemo mullet hair!   Did your hair come back gray in the beginning like mine is or did it come back in its regular color?

BTW, I saw my surgeon today and she is going to delay my mammo until after she sees me again in November as I told her about what happened to you.  She said radiation recall is rare but it does happen (well, obviously!!...it happened to you.) So to be on the safe side I am only going to have an MRI in October.  So thanks for the heads up on that!  Also she said that radiation recall can happen to us at any time for the rest of our lives if we get too much sun on the radiated area.  So no nude sunbathing for us!!!!   lol

Hi Lori, my hair is coming back a mousy brown with some gray in it, but it seems like it's getting darker and not as much gray.  I kept it highlighted for many years and I really like the darker color now.  I use a spiking gel on it and it gives it some texture and a bit of wave, but it's still straight as a stick-- no chemo curl here!  Just in the last 3 weeks, it has really grown fast.  Even the guys at my work are amazed at how fast it's growing.  It's hard for me to gauge if it is thicker than before because I always wore my hair long and straight and cut one length and it was always fine, so this is a whole new experience for me.  Glad to hear your surgeon has advised you to wait on the mammo.  It's just my luck to have "rare" things happen to me... Wink

Gina, what a beautiful picture of you and your family!  How many grandchildren do you have?  Do they live near you?  I have one grandson, six months old yesterday, and he lives two hours away and I live for the times when I get to see him!

Honestly, I could just sit and look at everyone's photos all the day long... I also love looking at vacation and travel photos that people have taken.  Hmm, that would be another good thread to get going.

    Hugs to all,

    Mary Jo

Mary Jo, Your grandson is adorable. He looks like he has red hair. Does he?

I have 4 grands plus one due in October. Its a girl. The 3 boys live very close, but my grandaughter lives about 45 miles away in Philadelphia. My son and her mother have joint custody so I see her a couple of times a month usually.

Its so great to see the families of everyone else enjoying life. I love looking at pictures also. I have a lot of my own but they're not organized. I recently let my kids go through them and take the ones that they wanted. Better they have them now when they can enjoy them than later.

    Hi Gina,

Yes, Mason's hair is red and he has steely blue eyes-- quite a combination!  When he was born, it was darker but everytime I see him, I can see the red coming in. My son-in-law's sister has gorgeous long, curly red hair and I'm sure she's delighted to have a red-head nephew.  You are lucky to have your grandsons close by and glad you can see your granddaughter some.  I agree with you about the pictures-- I've sent lots home with my kids, but have many more to organize, one of these days!

    Celia,

I haven't been on this thread for awhile...  But, I thought everyone had these 'lights' in their eyes, it is from the camera!!

But, my hair is longer now, and the curl is almost gone.  I have had my hair colored three times since chemo, because it came in WHITE on top and BLACK in the back!  I NEVER had that color hair before... although, there WAS quite alot of white in my hair...

It is nice to see what everyone looks like!  I would NEVER have pictured anyone as they are in their pics!

    Traci:

    Love your pics!!

I lost my dad in 2005.  We were very close.  My mom has severe dementia and it's as though she left this world when my dad did.  I really miss talking to my dad.

    My new hair

O.K. here it goes...This a picture of Hubby & me on our cruise we took to celebrate  finishing treatment this April. My "new" hair is growing in, but after having long blonde hair all my life, I am just getting used to having this new short do! It won't grow long, it just grows fyzzy & thick, so I will keep it short for now. It definitely is great for  summer! Jackie
