3 year anniversary
Hello to all of my triple negative friends. I don't post on here much but read the posts very often. Tomorrow is my three year anniversary since my mastectomy in 2005.
I will be having a glass of champagne with my lovely husband and in-laws. The three years has been such a journey. Fear at times, even now but I think that is normal. I don't know about you guys but for me cancer changes you alot and is deep down inside at most times now but does rear its ugly head in worry. But enough about the thoughts, but more about the positive.
I am here at three years after mastectomy, reconstruction and chemotherapy and NED. I know three years is a big deal for us triple negatives.
I have gotten married to a wonderful man who has stood by me before, during and after the bc. we got married last november and it was a lovely day. I have been promoted at work and am able to maintain a full time job. I don't think about cancer that often any more - just to let the newbies know that the cancer concern does lessen over time.
I have a full head of hair. A bit greyer after chemo but that's what hair die is for. My hair is even a bit thicker and looks really healthy.
I'm looking forward to another thirty, forty fifty and more years. This website has been a great support to me. Just reading other's stories, questions and concerns.
Anyway thanks to everyone who posts here and I'm looking forward to the champagne tomorrow.

Dear Cazza,
Thank you so much for your lovely, positive post. It's true that we triple negatives are especially in need of stories that carry promise. Tomorrow I shall raise a glass of wine (can't afford champagne right now, alas) in your honor. Good health to you, for many, many years to come.
Love,
Annie

Congratulations Annie!
We are on about the same timeline. I had my 3 year anniversary last Sunday. I agree. I don't think the concern really goes away, you just get used to living with it. I think it like Russell Crowe in "A Beautiful Mind" when that man and little girl are always following him. He just learns to ignore them. I feel like that. It's always there, but I start not to notice it.
Congratulations, again!!

Congratulations Cazza! I hope you have a fabulous celebration! You certainly deserve it
Also want to say congrats to Nicki & Shannon! It's wonderful to hear others with good news. I am only about 17 months out from diagnosis and about 6 months out from finishing all the tx. I wish you all the best.
