CMF Hair loss
I started CMF on June 16th, I have had two treatments. I have heard that I will lose 25% to 50% of my hair. I have started to shed hair on day 19. I am curious of what others have experienced while on CMF. How long did the shedding of hair go on for you?

I am not sure what CMF was but i lost all my hair 2 weeks after the first chemo but my teenage grandson was staying with me and bought some doorags and we both wore them when we went somewhere. It was kind of cool.

I think loosing my hair was one of the most traumatic things that have occured during this whole beating cancer process started...however, there is light at the end of the bald head tunnel. I lost all my hair 2 weeks after my chemo started last August....finished my last chemo in Feb....shaved my head again the end of March to even out what had started to grow back. Have been wearing a wig since last August. I just had bilateral mast May 22 and my goal was not to have to wear my wig when I returned to work June 18th....but my hair didnt grow very fast....so when I went back to work my hair was very very short....but everyone has been so complimentary on how I look with my really really short gray hair ( have always had big blonde hair). I have now decided to not go back to blonde and am going to keep my hair short!
Keep your chin up and keep watching these sites for information and tips...really does help!

I finished 6 txts of CMF on May 1 and had minimal hair loss. My hair thinned by it was not noticable. It started shedding shortly after my 1st txt and continued until 3 weeks after my last one. Two years ago I had 6 txts of TAC and lost it all. The CMF treatment was alot easier to tolorate. With talking with others on this site I don't think any of them lost their hair 100%, just thinning. Please feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.
2 treatments down!!! Hang in there!!

I just finished 8 txts of CMF last wed. and didn't lose much. It is thinner at the crown but you can just style it a bit fluffier.
I don't think anyone on the CMf has lost it all, just some thinning and alot of us got cute short dos. Check out Harley and Carol and Ritajean on the site for some good looking gals!
Good luck

Hi there, mmcguire! Please hop onto the CMF question thread under Help Me Make It Through Treatment. We CMF gals will talk you through the CMF journey. It's quite a bit different than the AC journey.
As for the hair, you will lose some, but probably only you and your hairdresser will know. I used the Nioxin products to build body with mine and even kept it long although we layered it more.
How many treatments are you doing? Six? Did you have any other side effects the first two times? Are you doing the pills or just the infusions?
I think you'll find the CMF regiment quite "doable." Please check out the CMF thread and join us!
