non mast suit that works for us

My latest Lands End order just arrived.  I ordered a NON-mast. swim top.  It is called Long Beach Living solid Empire Halter Swim Top.  It works perfectly since it had an opening at the top of the cup so that you can remove the cups that come with it.  I just tried it on and did not remove the cups that came with it.  Instead I just inserted my breast form and it looks great.  More comfortable than other mast swim tops because it is not as tight.  Great cut too since it is a halter style.  The only thing is that for this particular bathing suit you may want to order down a size.  I usually wear a size 8 mast. suit but in this style the 8 is a tiny bit too loose.  I just ordered it in a size 6.  They are on sale for only $16.99.  I am not sure what sizes they have left but I did notice it is in a long torso size.  I would  never normally order a long torso size but the cut really works on me.  I am only 5' tall so don't let the fact that it is described as being for people with a long torso prevent you from ordering.

    Carol,

Can you post a link to the webpage with that suit? I went to Land's End and found the Beach Living suits, but they were all more expensive and I couldn't find the exact one you described, even in the sale section. Do you think the other suits also have the openings to remove cups? That would give us lots of options!

The item number is below.  I tried to create a link but it didn't work.  Go to Overstocks and in the search area for that, type in the item number below.  If it does not work let me know.  Actually, let me know if you find it.  I don't know about the other suits having that as an option.  This one jumped out at me because it said removable cups so I just figured if they were removable there must be a hole in the cup to take out the padding and put in a form.  I know...I am so smart :)

    Carol,

I found it. Thanks! You are smart!! I never would have made the leap from "removable cups" to "good for using with breast forms."

They only have a size 6 left--I may gamble and order it. I'm normally a size 4-6, so if it runs big, it probably won't work. But at $16.99, it might be worth giving it a try.

I bought a suit from Lands End a few years ago and I found the same thing about the sizing.

I'm glad it's working out! Now I'm gonna go google that myself. I wonder if they have any 10s.

I LOVE my Land's End suits.  I love that they have special Mastectomy Suits, and I love their return policy (Guaranteed, period.).

I had to get a new suit because my old one was to accomodate my DD boobs.  Now I have barely a B, so my top size is different than my bum.  Yes, I said bum.......

I just placed an order for the tankini although the only colour they had left was Sunset orange but for me the price is right - thanks for the tip!

One question - I often wear either a size 8 or 10 bikini bottom.  As you noted, can you confirm that these fit larger so I should probably order a size 8?

I wonder if I should order an 8 and a 10 and return the one that doesn't fit rather than taking the chance that they'll be out of stock if I buy too small?

    Cheryl.

    Cheryl,

You could certainly order both sizes, given their return policy. At Zappos, a big online shoe store, they actually encourage customers to order two sizes if they're not sure, and return the one that doesn't fit.

    Cheryl,

I went with a larger size so I didn't feel the need to tug.
