Just wondering how many states offer a "pink ribbon" or cancer cause" Vehicle license plate?

I know IL and AZ have them. Here in Oregon we do not. Proceeds from non specific plates go to liter patrol. Thanks to all for any input!

    Virginia has them.

A friend of mine has the pink ribbon plate with "squzem", spelled something like that, it means squeeze them in the mamo machine!  LOL !

Cute! It would be fun to think of different "personalizations" for the plates!

Lauragto has "ACURE" on her IL plates!

NY has it as well. Not sure where the proceeds go, but I'll check into it...

Arkansas also has them.   We have them on each of our cars.   As I understand, in our state, proceeds go to the Komen Foundation.

Alabama is working on getting one approved.  At last count I know it needed 300 more subscribers to pass.  We have nascar plates here,,,go figure.

    Amy,

Alabama now has them! Apparently they gave away plates to the first 1000, who registered. I just missed out on a free one. They got donations to pay for them, and by having 1000 ordered, they were able to get the ok on them. I thnk they said about $42 of each $50 charged goes to cancer research. I don't believe they have made them yet, but it should be soon. What part of AL are you in?

We have them here in Arizona. I moved from Minnesota to Arizona and when I registered my car here, I got the Pink Ribbon plates. They are also personalized "SRVR06". For me that is Survivor 06.

I hope soon all states will have these plates available.

New Jersey has a Conquer Cancer plate. The $50 first time fee and $10 annual renewal go to research through the NJ State Commission on Cancer Research. The plates were around when I moved here in 1999.

I have the NY cancer plates.  I wish they were as cute as Floridas.  They don't have a pink ribbon, they have a flower on them and it says conquer cancer, then under New York it says DRIVE FOR THE CURE

My plates say CNCR SX  (cancer sucks)

Komen is offering  Maryland Komen license plates that you actually order through Komen.  You send two checks to Komen...one for $25 made out to them and one for $25 made out to MVA.  I didn't know about it until I saw this thread and googled it.  Thanks!

I'll post pics when it's all done!

Apparently, the required 1000-plate (we call it a "tag") pre-commitment was met, and the tags will be available for purchase in Fall 2008.

$41.25 of each $50 specialty tag fee goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama.  That organization raises money for breast cancer research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center (where I'm being treated!).  Here's more:   http://www.bcrfa.org/license-plate.php

Colorado has them.  I got them for my car last year when plates expire.  DH has a company car - sure wish he had the tags on it.
