My mom has IBC and had a treatment of Taxol on Monday.  She seemed to be in a lot of pain over her whole chest area (which has visibily noticeable IBC/sores).  Have any of you experienced this?  I am hoping it means the chemo is attacking and doing what it should and the pain will subside as the skin/tissue heals.  thanks

I'm so sorry your mother is going through such a hard time.  Unfortunately, I haven't had the experience of skin mets with IBC so I'm afraid I would just be giving empty adivce.  The best I can suggest is to report ANY symptoms like this to your oncologist or the onc nurses as soon as possible.  She may be having a reaction to the Taxol and they need to know about it.

    Kristi,

I did have a small rash like pimple when diagnosed w/ IBC. I don't recall having any pain during my chemo in that area. It was pretty small though. I am hopeful that it is the chemo doing its job, but would call and let the onc know she is having pain.

    Hugs and Prayers,

    Lexi

Thanks, the onc knows she is having pain.  I think some of it may be from the lymphedema.  I just read a very interesting post on that forum about Claritin.  Thanks for responding.

Thank you all so much for this information. I started TCH on July 1 and 2 with Neulasta. How I wish I'd been prepared for the constipation! Thanks to you guys,  I think I will do much better on July 21 with all of these tips. Making my shopping list and planning an outing tonight. (It's just too hot in Austin to go out during the day). Does Claritin really work for bone pain? And, I wonder why Tylenol is supposed to be a better choice than Alleve? Maybe I remembered incorrectly and I should call my Oncology nurse. BB
