3rd treatment side effects longer
Did anyone notice tht the 3rd treatment was the worst my side effects lasted allot longer and the no taste buds are still with me 10 days after treatment went to a barbacue over the 4th food smelt good but it was eating a piece of cardboard. I shaved my hair 3.5 weeks ago not showing much growth there but I am trying to be patient no matter how good your wig is in the summer its hard to wear it all day and I am not a scarf person at all. Just thought I would ask if the side effects last longer as it goes along my next is 4 out of 6 the nurses said I should have the same side effects each time. I also ran a fever a few mornings with this one but I think I didnt drink enough liquids which is hard to do if you have no taste buds anyone out there going through this stuff??

My fatigue increased with each round but the other side effects pretty much remained the same. I could plan on the first week being a wipe out, didn't go into work and just moped around the house. Hair did not start growing back until after chemo ended. I was on TCH.

Hi enjoylife,
To start with I love your screen name! You said that you just had your third treatment of six. Are you doing TAC? That is what I had, also six treatments, and my third was my worst as well not sure exactly why. I have a friend that also went through TAC and she had the same problem with the TAC. The forth one was much better than the third, but the fifth and sixth were not so great. I ran a low grade fever for a couple of days after every treatment. I found that drinking lemonade help some with the taste thing. Didn't make things taste good but it did seem to help make it better. For me water was the worst the first few days after treatment, which is strange because I have always been a big water drinker. I drank a lot of lemonade and ice tea. As far as the hair thing I went bald the whole time. I just couldn't stand having anything on my head with the hot flashes I was having. My hair actually started growing back in right before my last treatment. I got nervous at first it would fall out again, but thankfully it did not. My last treatment was on March 3rd and I have a little over an inch of hair. It actually looks kinda cute. It almost looks as if I decided to cut my hair to look like this. I know that the side effects are a pain in the butt, but you are half way there. Only three more to go!!! If you have any other questions please feel free to PM me. Take care and be good to yourself.
Keep laughing,
Jenny
