I'm thinking of buying one but need input.  I joined SNAP Fitness and it works fine but I know that once the snow flies it will be harder to go.  Tongue out I know that if I had one I'd use it and so would my husband.

Have you had one?  Do you have one?  What do you like/dislike about it?  Cost?  Where did you buy it???? Any info would be great!

Thanks!

I have a Pro Form Crosswalk 375E that I bought at Sears for $700.00. It works great! Especially to dry my delicates on! :)

It really is a good one for the price. I need to dust it off and get my fat a** on it.

Oh well, one thing at a time......

ps It's not one that you can fold down and push under the bed though....but, if it did that, I really wouldn't use it cuz I wouldn't be able to see it! It's part of my living room furniture.

I have a Schwinn 820P that I like a lot.  Bought it at a store that sells exercise equipment.   I think it was about $700.  It doesn't fold, but they do make one that folds.  I think that if I put it away I wouldn't want to bother taking it out to use it.  I look at it every day, just need to get on it every day.Wink

I have a Cadence 840 bought at Sears several years ago for $450.  It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but does everything I need it too.  I use mine every day but I admit that there was a couple of years when it became a clothes hanger.  Now I make sure that there is something interesting on the TV to work out to and the time (and miles) go by quickly.

I agree with the other ladies about the folding treadmills.  Who would bother to keep putting it away and taking it out every day.  I also wonder about how stable they are when you are pounding on it day after day.

haha Traci! Yes, there is a towel hanging beautifully from the arm of my treadmill right now.

We have (I think) a Life Fitness treadmill; it folds up to save space and is very nice. We are actually "borrowing" it from my girlfriend's dad, who let us use it while I was in chemo - it's been 18 months since chemo and I still have it. Very nice man! Anyway, I like it, it's convenient; however, I prefer to go to the gym and use the treadmill where there are other people running along side you - sounds crazy, but it's a little boring running by myself in the basement, but it's nice to have the option if I can't make it to the gym.

I have an Horizon Fitness Elite 4.0T that I got about 4-5 years ago. Haven't been on it in a while (like since before BC 3 years ago) but when I did use it I liked it a lot! Wink

I have the Life Fitness one that Raye has, also "on loan" from a friend (it's been four years and she's moved across country, so I guess it's really mine now). I like that it folds up but the pannel is hard to read unless the room is pretty well-lit, which tends to make it hot (I'm 6'2", so when I'm on a treadmill bouncing up and down, my head is a little closer to the ceiling lights than most, I guess)...

I got an exercise arm/leg machine about 10 years ago.   I live in an apartment.  When I used it, it made the floor move, so big complaints from neighbors. I tried to give it away to the Goodwill, but they wouldn't take it.  I did convince the person attending the van to take it for himself. It folded up, but I barely got it in my car.

I adapted fairly quickly to the movements, so my body wasn't doing anything 'new'. The novelty wore off after a few months.

I have doubts if I'd buy another one. I guess I really like going out to exercise.  Some people can manage to entertain themselves with music or something while they exercise, but I have a lot of trouble with that.

We all are motivated by different things. I'm sure it would be just great for some people. It just didn't work out for me.

I had one and had to keep it in the garage in the winter---finally loaned it to a staff member---who let it collect dust in HER garage.

May I suggest: if you purchase one, get a small TV to watch while you walk.  But FIRST: make sure you don't buy a NEW one---find a used exercise machine store.  There's one in every city and folks take their (un)used machines there.  Will save you a bundle and if you wear it out, you'll know it's worth getting a new one.

I had an Epic (manufactured by ICON International) one from Costco. Cost about $900 and the thing broke twice! in less than 2 years. Only walked on it at at 2.5 to 3 mph so it wasn't being abused. The company sent me the parts for free both times (the second time was out of warranty but it was the same problem as the first), but I had to pay for labor. After the second time fixing it, I sold it for $350 to a friend of the repair man. Wouldn't recommend any brand of treadmill made by ICON.

I just ordered a Schwinn recumbent bike on sale from Sears that will be delivered in a couple weeks. I've been having trouble with my feet since chemo so I hope this will work better for me.
