Excellent article.  I'm just getting started back into exercise after chemo - I printed out a copy and will keep it in my workout bag as an incentive to stick with it.

I enjoyed that article.  Just wish exercise had kept me from getting BC!  I know that my gym sessions have kept my SEs minimal during treatment and even on my worst days, I at least go in for some treadmill time.  As long as I have a book to read the treadmill is fine but I really like going to Step class because it engages my chemobrain and I feel just a little more mentally acute after Step.  I am still not back to my previous levels of muscle work but I have been told by my husband's trainer that he's ready to take me on as soon as chemo and rads are done.  In the meantime I am doing some low key weigh resistance work.  I am definitely not a hard body athlete but the mental gains from exercise as well as any possible weight gain avoided is worth getting off my butt for.  If the added bonus is keeping cancer from recurring, even better.

    That's a good article.

I don't really believe it because it seems like I keep meeting up with athletic fit women who have breast cancer, but you never know.  Sometimes the effects they find over a large population cancel out the antidotal examples you run into in life.

I think the best reason to exercise is because you feel better afterwards. I particularly feel good when I put on shorts or jeans from last year and they still button up!
