I buy mine at Walmart and CVS, with the suntan lotions. But mine is pure aloe gel and has no added alcohol or fragrance. One brand I've used is Fruit of the Earth.

-
CVS now has their own brand to compete with Fruit of the Earth.
-
i got mine at GNC.
-
I found Fruit of the Earth 100% Aloe Gel at KMart.

The VERY BEST is by Aloe Life...it is also organic and has calendula herb (mainstream rad oc now supporting this) vit E, C added. It is medicial level of Aloe and the other healing herbs. Worth buyubg the good stuff, seriously!
-
my onc nurse told me that aloe was fine for soothing and cooling but that it will not moisturize your skin that i will have to use something in addition to the aloe vera anyone else have an opinion
-
I use Aquaphor....They have coupons all over the rads place for it. It does work good, but the Dr. says I should use Hydrocordosone cream for itching along with the othere cream.
So far I have no itching because I use both creams to stay ahead of the game. 23 down and 10 to go. I think there is an end in sight.

My radiation onc told me I have done and excellent job of keeping my skin in good shape through 28 radiation treatments. The only product I used was the pure aloe vera gel from the above web site!

I used Lily of the Valley brand, sold at Whole Foods, as it's 99% organic. I only used this product (my rad onc and rad nurse both said use only aloe) and it worked for me, I didn't burn or blister.
To answer Susan, my radiated breast got pinkish/pinker and maybe a little darker but eventually returned to its normal color.
-
jaybird ...i finished my rads 8/11 and the color still hasnt returned to normal...LOL... figured it would take a while because my rads side got really dark!!
-
I would recommend SWEEN CREAM ... no script needed BUT Walgreens pharmacy has to special order it for you -- arrives the very next day. I used Aquaphor at bedtime on;y lather it on GOOD even after the 1st treatment .. and then I used SWEEN CREAM daily every day .....
Not once did I burn with rads and didn't start turning ' pink ' til the very last week of rads and I had 33 rads tx.
Sween Cream is a great product
Hugs -
My rad doc said not to use aloe vera because it wasn't moisturizing enough. I used Emu oil, never burned, just slightly pink towards the end..did 33 rads.
