I made it up to the end!
I participated in the over 200 km bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls on June the 21 and 22.
It was a very great and emotionelle experience and arriving at the finish line the cheering was overwhelming.
A Year ago I never thought I would be able to this.
We all raised over 14 Million Dollars for Cancer Research benefitting the Princess Margareth
Hospital in Toronto.
Was somebody else of you on the Ride?
Cheers

Congrats on the great ride and finish. Sounds like it was an awesome fundraiser.

Hi Panther,
Just came across your post...my dh and nephew also did the ride and we met up with them in Niagara falls. What a great day that was, actually that whole weekend was wonderful. We did our relay for life on that weekend also, in total for that weekend our small group of 13 people raised over $20,000 dollars for cancer. My dh has already signed up to do the ride for next year and he wants me to come too. But I don't think I can do it. How was it for you?????

Hi Lucy,
Last year my 2 sons who had already registered said to me : "you can do it Mom" I registered. So I went to buy a road bike and started training last fall. I do not like gyms or any indoor activity. In Winter I walked and cross country skied 1 to 2 hours every day. When the roads were ice and snow free I started biking, pretty late, I live on Georgian Bay and our roads here are not salted. My biggest concern was sitting on the saddle for long hours . (Have to start slowly and every 3 days or so.) The Ride was great and riding over the finish line gave me a feeling that I accomplished something important to me. I was not exhausted or tired from the ride just feeling good.
BTW I registered for 2009 in team with my sons and a friend of theirs.

Hi Panther,
Good for you...thanks for the advice, but I'm still not sure about doing the ride. I'll have to wait and see. By the way where are you in Georgian Bay? we go up to Blue Mountain quite a bit. Love it up there.
