IBC

My mom just found out that she has IBC. The only problem is she is in the last stage of it, we were told that it was found to late. My question is she is having problems with the itching and heat, hospice has given her medications for the pain that she has, but no one seems to know what to do with the other symptoms. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What do you mean by "last stage"? Has it spread far and wide? If it's just limited to the breast then it was not found too late.

I am new to this discussion group. I was dx with IBC last @.20/07. I have been through chemo, rads and bilat. mast. ( left side cancer, right side was choice). I would love to reach out to other women or men going through IBC. Let me know

Welcome to this discussion board. There are several of us out there hanging in with this diagnosis. I was diagnosed last June and have had the kitchen sink treatment. Now I'm taking Arimidex and feeling pretty fine. I worry of course that the cancer will return but try to live each day. There's a bunch of information and support on ibcsupport.org.
Stage III, grade 3, 6 cm tumor, ER+, too many nodes

IBCer,
Welcome to this site. It will provide you with a lot of information, support, an outlet for fear and questions and hopefully a lot of hope.
I was diagnosed July 13,2007 and had 6 TAC , double mx, 33 rads and am currently on tamoxifen. I have great days that I totally forget about everything I have been through, and I have days that I cry myself to sleep. I am told that is a good thing. I stopped wearing my wig 6 weeks ago and that has also been an adjustment. It was a little step backwards for me at first, but now I am enjoying the ease of the short style and look forward to being able to try new things. I really do feel good most days with very little side effects from the tamoxifen.
An interesting fact about me, I work at the Regional cancer center in the lab so I already knew all of the physicians and nurses that would be my new best friends. It was hard on everyone at first and I have been told they all had to have a "suck it up" lecture at first.
How are you doing now? What kind of chemo did you have? How was your diagnosis made and how long did it take?
Diane
