I HAVE DONE 2 ROUNDS OF CHEMO MY HAIR FELL OUT ON DAY 14 AFTER 1ST DOSE. ASK YOUR DOCTOR NOT ALL CHEMOS MAKE YOUR HAIR FALL OUT THEY TOLD ME MINE WOULD START FALLING OUT BETWEEN DAYS 14-17 AND IT DID. I BOUGHT 4 WIGS AND DON'T WEAR ANY OF THEM I WEAR HEAD SCARFS OR DO RAGS AND I WEAR THEM TO WORK ANY EVERYONE LOVES THEM. I WORK IN THE MEDICAL FEILD AND THEY WANT TO HAVE A DO RAG DAY WHERE EVERYONE CAN WEAR THEM. LOL BUT ANYWAY DON'T WORRY ITS NOT THAT BAD.

Hi Morningglory3 - I finished 4 rounds of TC 4 weeks ago. The first day of chemo is pretty easy - they give you premeds to conteract side effects. Depending on what they give you - you may feel a little sleepy, for some, the steroids may keep you awake. You will probably have steroids and antinausea meds to take for a few days. I usually didn't notice any side effects until day 4 when I stopped steroids.
For me chemo was do-able - and many others have said the same thing. Drink lots, stay on top of any side effect, rest when your body tells you to. Constipation was one of my worst side effects. I would recommend Senokot - one with laxative in. I also used Miralax. My mouth became sensitive on day 5-7 but nothing serious. I started losing my hair on day 17, started falling out in clumps so shaved my head. I think I would have had some thin hair if I had not shaved my head.
Chemo is very scary - take it one day at a time. You will find lots of support on these boards.
I also work in medical field - RN managing an Emergency Medical Services Education Department for Level One Trauma Center.
