jdash - thanks for the kind words about my Pug boy. He was my solid support through chemo - when I couldn't get up for me, I would do it for him. I call him Dex. His name is CH. Nirvana's C.K. Dexter Haven, CGC
(named after the character played so suavely by Cary Grant in The Philadelphia Story). I owner-handled him to his AKC Championship when he was just a young'un - he loves to show and is just a real character in the ring. But when I was sick, he was a quiet lap-dog and warm comforter. And he makes me laugh. Pugs were bred to be little entertainers. European royal courts had court jesters - in China, they had Pugs - and they take that role to heart!
Hugs,
Lisa

lisa i totally understand dex's support thru chemo- i didnt have my pup till after but the love he gives me is so unbelievable! my kids were my reason for getting up everyday when i went thru all my tx and surgeries and my reason for working so hard to stay healthy but my pup gives me more love than anyone else in the world!
i had 2 golden retrievers when i was married 24 yrs ago- my husband was dx with cancer right after we married and passed away 5 yrs later but my dogs were so aware of what was going on and they would give him sooo much love and support- arent dogs amazing!!!
pearl- we are all still thinking of you and hoping you are traveling and having an awesome time
look forward to hearing from you

Ode to Our Friend Up North
May the sunlight be shining bright
On yet another day where 'er you may be
Whether you are being taken care of by someone else
Or perhaps with sister, reminiscing in the spray of the sea
As of now your where abouts unknown
But not unknown in our hearts
For there remains a constant thrown
One gathering pearls for each day
Reflecting our good wishes our friend does rest
Peacefully again in her home.
Best wishes from all of us,
Tender -
Pearl,
Please post... I'm worried, since we haven't heard anything... are you ok??

Susan Koman's Race for the Cure was strong here, Pearl. I am so proud of the national effort on breast cancer behalf, and truly believe its research helps contribute knowledge to all cancers.
Did you see Senator Clinton's concession speech by any chance? No matter what one's inclination, I believe all women can be proud of her accomplishment of coming so close to a presidential US run. I had goose bumps, hearing her speak, and realizing how far she has taken the Oval Office, as has Nancy Pelosi in the House and other fine Congresswoman. I know you live in Canada, yet womens issues seem transcontinental.
My you'll have a lot of reading to do when you come back. Good stuff, concern over you, offers of help, connection in times of distress as well as normal life.
We miss you Pearl.

Dearest Pearl,
Whereever you are, please know you have a permanent place in my heart. One of peace, care and support.
Someday I hope we will talk again.
Blessings to you, Pearl.

Praying for you...please check in with us.

Thought of you this morning
As I do my tasks
Walking all my puppies
Screening my beloved teen's rash
Sat outside and listened
To the birds now traveled South
Songs and melodies so lovely
Oh what comes from such heavenly mouths
Drank my morning coffee
Gazed to the North your way
Imaged your face with a smile
Happily thinking of you today.
Tender -
Missing you, Pearl. I hope you are feeling well!

The heat wave finally broke that had engulfed us here in the Eastern US, Pearl. With cooler days, my mind drifts northward and of course to you. Hoping you are not suffering, not in pain, hoping your sister is in touch with you.
I miss you, Pearl, yet understand things happen. Just know we all are thinking of you.
