calling all NYC, LI,NJ,CT GIRLS

Okay girls... how bout a Sunday in July in the city, or in Long Island in Bayville, or Long beach, on the water...
the city has plenty of deals in the summer for drinks and lunches, cause everyone's in the Hamptons, so it's perfect dollar wise to go back there too.
Who's traveling, vacationing??? What's everyone's story for JULY?
I wouldn't be opposed to having a BBQ in my backyard in Long Island either depending on the amount of people....
-
Count me in Beth!! Loved meeting everyone last time. . .
Doesn't matter where--I will get there.
-
count me
IN!
-
Me four!!!!
-
Would love to come. July 19th is out, major wedding to attend. But
keep me posted.

What about Sunday July 13th or Sunday July 20th?
-
july 13th out for me- i am doing a movie premier for mamma mia out in the hamptons! meryl streep and pierce bronson but listen to this - by sheer coincidence the main focus of the premier is to raise awareness for the evelyn lauder breast foundation - thats my treatment center at memorial sloan where they saved my life !!! i am forever indebted to that place and now i get to work on this amazing event for them i think the 20th works for me- or i can do a saturday the 27 i have visiting day for my daughter at camp
please make sure i can be there I DO NOT WANT To miss it!
If you have it in your backyard I will bring all the rentals ! and help barbacue
-
Okay so how does July 20th sound to people?
Do we have a list from everyone who was here last time-- maybe we can start PMing people.
If there's 15 of us like last time, I would totally host a BBQ. I have a gazebo, and a table that seats 6, so Jdash you could help me with another table and chair rental-- I have a fire pit- and a glider and chairs in the back-- nothing fancy but good fun.
Plenty of parking on my street- 2 miles from the LIE and Northern state. And I know Matthew would love to BBQ for all of us. We could even do something where people could bring side dishes... and trust me, I will stock plenty of fun drinks for the affair.
It's just an idea.
The only thing, is that if it's too hot, we might all be miserable, and in that case, then I'd say lunch in the city in a place with nice AC.
and I'm talking airconditioning, not the chemo drug.
-
July 20th works for me -- it would be so much fun to see your backyard, Beth! I love the potluck idea! (But airconditioning in the city is always fine with me, too!)
Julia, good luck with your Mamma Mia premiere! Sounds so exciting for you!

it might be too hot thats a thought i love the idea though
well i can work on a restaurant ! there is this great place downstairs from my office and they have the coolest lounge - i will check with them what i can do its convenient located for anyone coming in since its a few blocks from penn sta and also grand central its on 37th street between 8/9th ave then i can give you all a tour of my gorgeous showroom !
-
lets try posting on all the different conversations too! i dont think alot of people check this one alot
we should get a much bigger turnout that way i think lets try and make it a fun fundraiser too! for bc.org we can do raffles and things what do ya think ?
-
I would love a tour of your showroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omg, totally see if we could work that out.
-
i am sure i can work it out let me check with the tavern
its http//www.thezipperfactory.com/
it is also a theater and they have some great shows there - my friends work there - they used to work with me at the rental company but now are helping run the zipper factory
it is actually in the same building as my showroom
you will love it ! great place for a party
-
I'm hoping this Jersey Girl can make it, that's the weekend before my surgery (ooph) and I think my son will be with his Dad. I need to head down the shore to visit my Dad anyway, so I'll try to make it coordinate with whatever you come up with.
Yeah!
-
The 20th works for me too. I was ill for the last one - don't want to miss this one. Barbecue or City...sounds good to mel
Debbie
-
Okay- so after talking it over with some of the girls, we think July might be too hot for a bbq at my house. It would suck if we all planned something, and then it rained.
So we're looking into the city for July 20th. PM whoever has been MIA from the boards or email whoever and let them know.
I had so much fun last time, and Julia did a great job of putting it together and the price too...
I'm always down for a 12:30 pm brunch...mimosa's anyone?
-
Hi I am hoping to make it this time. July 20th sounds good to me.
I will keeping popping in so I can stay informed.
-
Great idea Beth - would you mind a "newbie" like me showing up? I'm only an hour train ride north of NYC - and would love to meet everyone. I'm also a beach lover - met my dh at Jones Beach - now my favorite beach is Robert Moses (that's close to you, right?) But of course I understand the need for a/c and how not everyone loves the sand, ocean and sun. July 20th looks great for me no matter where you all meet!
-
July 30 is a go for me--
I hide in the heat so I guess I would vote for an AC place in the City.
-
swimangel72 -- this is for all Board members -- and you're a veteran at this point!!!! Anyone visiting NYC should come too!!!!
(All you Texas, Nebraska, Alaska gals... all roads lead to New York!!! Am I right, NYC/LI/NJ/CT girls?)
-
yeah-- I just spoke to choca- she came up from FL our last get together, but this time she'll be traveling to the UK....
The more the merrier. Please bring your drinking shoes, and at least one dirty joke.
-
Sign me up
-
Thanks for PMing me Beth. I'll pencil in the 20th.

-
I would love to come but I'm scheduled to have the baby the 16th (he's breech) so I will be in the hospital..have a wonderful time though!!!!!!!!
Love Marisa
-
Marisa-hopefully he's not jamming his head up in your rib cage right now.
We'll be thinking of you (and drinking for you)
I really think everyone will be too hot for a bbq-- it could be gross out...
What are people's thoughts for doing an eary dinner? Julia- what would the price range be there?
-
Lol - his head jams my ribs...butt jams my bladder..and back comes out the right side like an alien!...ahh 4 weeks left
-
I vote for NYC on the 20th
I am sure we can find someplace.
If we know how many, I belong to Open table and they are good for reservations
Midtown is best- easy access from Metro North, NJ transit and LIRR
Looking forward to it and will bring some Jersey girls
Susan
-
July 20th sounds good to me - as does Midtown! Hope we can all get together then!
