problems logging on, posting, everything is SO SLOW

    hi admin,

    I am having trouble today and the last few days (maybe even a week) with logging in, posting, changing pages, just about any activity on bco.  Everything is V-E-R-Y slow.  Sometimes today when i have been trying to post, i have had to open a new window to read stuff till the post finally goes thru.  If i click the submit again it usually posts a double post.  I have tried this on my MAC and on my PC laptop and both are just as slow as each other. 

    Is anyone else having this experience?  Is there some work being done on the site???

    Thanks for any info you can give me about this problem.

    I too am having the same problems...I can speak for some other by their seeing multiple posts.

    I found if I double click SOMETIMES it opens a thread faster...but not when I post, as it will cause multiple postings.

    Also, when I spell check it tends to freeze for awhile.

    Oh yes...it's been verrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyy ssslllllllloooooooooowwwwwwwwww!  Also very fustrating! I think everyone is experiencing the same thing. 

    I am not sure what is going on.  I have not seen anything about maintenance or updates. Hmmm???

    Ditto here!  I open a couple windows and then post in the one that is open and close them as I open others, so I have like 3-4 going at once or I'd get way too bored watching them load! :) 

    Or I've been checking those tornado warnings inbetween!  Till I realized I probably should have shut down the puter instead! :D  DUH moment online!

    I'm having the same trouble for the past two days - must be some kind of problem on the server or else their bandwidth is too small. Hope it speeds up soon!

    Same here.  Thought it was my computer until I realized that the same thing was happening when I logged on here from work.  hmmmm.

    hey girls, thanks for speaking up......this is so frustrating!!!

    wishiwere, i am going to try more than my 2 windows like you did...great idea!!! but of course it is all still slow, but like you said, less boring while waiting for posts to happen!!

    admin-techs: can you tell us what is going on?? it is really hard to use the site lately.  Thanks for all the good work you guys do!!

    It is a nightmare - yesterday I got the 'oh - technical difficulties' while trying to post. got the same today when trying to post.

    What is going on?

    I am still having problems with posting--when i click the submit button it takes a long time to actually post.  I think others are pressing the button numerous times to try to get it to post, because last nite i noticed multiple duplicate posts from people (3 to 5  duplicate posts in a row), listed as a minute apart.

    so problem still happening......

    Folks, we have restarted the application which we hope will clear up these current issues and we are investigating the cause of these slow downs.  Please let us know if anyone continues to have speed issues.

    Celia, I also think that when we are trying to post and don't think that we clicked the submit button and click it again, that is what is causing the duplicate posts. I try to make sure that I only click it once.

    I will wait and see if the problem has cleared up.

    Now I am getting "Bad Response from Server" and "Oh, NO!" error messages about 80% of the time, no matter where I try to post or open an active thread.

    I just logged on again and got in much quicker this time. 

    When i actually submit this post i will be able to check out the timing  compared to posting this morning....

    Thanks everyone.  We have added additional monitoring and error reporting so we hope to stay on top of this issue.  It appears the search indexing service in use with the boards search was the culprit.  We'll keep an closer eye on it.

    Well nobody's saying this right now, but I am still having lots of problems with a VERY SLOW response to everything. I hope this can be fixed.
