Hey Jill..pm me if you'd like to be more in touch with us...
-
Jill,
I teach in an elementary school where we celebrate different cultures on "world tour day". My country is Scotland. Next time I will try to enlist your help for tips on how to show little kids what Scotland is like.
-
Oh, and Jill, I was at the get-together. It was wild and wonderful. Maybe next time you can make it.

Hi, some of the girls met this weekend....again...as we are approaching our 4th year from diagnosis. Here is a clip from a news account...thought some of you oldies might enjoy it
-
6 years ago this week I was diagnosed with a 9cm, er/pr negative tumor which was Her 2 positive.
After much treatment and reconstruction I am living disease free and pretty much the same life as before..work, home and passtimes.
BCO was my support group during that difficult first few years..eventually the ladies on this thread moved off to a rpivate site..and we still correspond today. We have had several live reunions which have been awesome.
At the time of diagnosis my kids were in elementary school and junior high, I was 44. I am now 50..yikes, my dd has graduated from uni, my second son is in second year and the yougest will graduate highschool. GRIN.
I feel very fortunate writing this letter, and am hopeful for many of you just beginning..especially those who feel the cards are against you.
I will be in the CIBC run for the cure in 2 weeks, I am with a team that helped raise over 250,000 dolloars for our hospital. I continue to advocate for improved outcomes for those less fortunate.
I jus want to say Hey! And Fists up!

Our original "2005 Roctober Chemo Girls" will be approaching 10 years of survivorship next year. We have bonded and became amazing friends and support systems for each other over the years. We still get together once a year for our Annual Get Together -- this year in July we did an Alaska cruise which was a trip of a lifetime.
Many things have changed over the years but we are still thriving and enjoying life. A few of us have had a reoccurance and a new Primary including myself this year.
Very sadly though, we lost one of our precious members a few weeks ago. RIP to our beloved Paula who was taken way too young at age 40. Miss you sweetie, heaven has surely gained a rare gem.
For those ladies just diagnosed or going through chemo, we are proof that there is life beyond this blasted disease!
Michele
