I dont know how everyone else here will feel when they read this but I really wish I practiced employment law right now.  I am so angry after reading this. Can you imagine what this(---- fill in the blank) restaurant owner would do with a server on prolonged chemo.Yell

While I agree that it really stinks for her to lose her job because of what she did to raise funds for a good cause, I also believe she'll probably be happier and more prosperous in that new job which she's already acquired.  I hope people in the vicinity will share your distaste for that restaurant's actions and eat somewhere else!  Now that would be an appropriate consequence imo.

I heard about this on the news the other night and I, too, wondered how they would treat a woman who had lost her hair due to chemo.  I say both cases would be discrimination.  Men shave their heads, why can't women.  I'm sure this place has received a lot of bad press.

I think that restaurant is a goner.   The manager will probably have to move to another town.

This incident happened at a restaurant in Owen Sound, Ontario which is a few hours north of where I live here in Ontario, Canada.  This is a small town and apparently the "locals" are in uprage about this incident.

The women came back to work after shaving her head and they told her to take the summer off that it was not appropriate for their restaurant.  She raised $2,700 for Cancer by doing this and was really proud of herself.

It makes me ill that people would even think that she did not belong working there after shaving her head.  I wonder how they would treat someone who actually had cancer, both in my opinion are discrimination.

I hope that owners get what they deserve.....

That's disgusting - she should sue. She would win.

I hate finding hair in my food.  Perhaps all food workers can shave their heads (just kidding).

I am sure a Canadian attorney will help her .... but she didn't really lose --- she may get more donations from the publicity plus she has a new job!
