I am looking for survivors of lobular breast cancer. I have just finished my chemo and will be starting radiation in 2 weeks. I am a stage 3c and would like to talk to survivors with a similiar diagnosis who can encourage and talk to me about this diagnosis.  thank-you for taking the time to contact me. prariewatcher

Hi there. I was a stage IIIa, diagnosed three years ago. At the time I only had the cancerous breast removed (then chemo and radiation). On Monday I will be having a prophylactic mastectomy on the other side. My surgeon told me that lobular can "jump" to the other side so I'm just going to have it removed.

Other than the surgery on Monday I am doing fine. I am training to do the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in NYC in October. I did it the year after my treatment and believe it helped motivate me to exercise which I believe was very beneficial for me.

Good Luck with your treatments. I thought the chemo was the harder part so you have the toughest road behind you.

Hi, I'm at stage IIIa, dianosed June 1, 2009.  Had lumpectomy in July.  Tumor was 2cm x 2cm x 2.5cm.  7 out of 16 lymph node involvement.  Had bilateral mastectomy in July 25, 2009.  Has small ILC tumor in other breast, w/ no lymph node involvement.  Had scant trace of cancer cells left in my right chest wall (no clean margins).  Started T/C chemo late Aug.  will finish 6 rounds on 12/3/09 then will start radiation treatment (5 weeks x 5 days a week) mid-January.

How are you doing now.  I've been affraid to ask about my prognosis.  I had a PET scan after my mastectomy.  No hot spots!  Have had 2 chest xrays which where also clean.
