    Hi All:  Haven't posted in a while, as I've been busy trying to regain my health after hormone therapy.  : (    I'm better now, but still not back to 100%.  Have come to the conclusion that my bad reaction to hormone therapy was due to endocrine issues.  I'm changing all my docs, and now need to find a DC area oncologist who is willing to take into consideration how my hypothyroidism affects my b/c risks and general health.  Does anyone have a good onc? Thanks!

    Although I only had a consultation and a follow-up conversation with her, I'd recommend Lisa Houde McGrail. Her practice is near the Friendship Heights Metro stop, at 5454 Wisconsin Ave. Tel. # is 301-657-4588.

    I would have stuck with her, but I am moving from DC to Boston once I am done with surgery and before I start chemo.

    Hi Jo - Thanks for the suggestion.  I'm posting this request under another thread so I can get a few suggestions.  I'm really trying to be careful about the new doctors I choose - don't want to keep switching.

       I tried googling Dr. McGrail, but only pull up stuff about her husband, who is also a doctor.  Can I ask how you came to find her?

      Where are you having surgery done?  I had single mastectomy and reconstruction done at GW.  LOVED my surgeons there.  Hope yours goes as well.

    Shannon,

    My breast surgeon recommended her. 

    I had my surgeries (lumpectomy and two re-excisions) done at Sibley, by Dr. Jane Hanscom. I liked her a lot and trusted her opinion regarding an oncologist.
