Cytoxin headaches

Hi everyone - I'm doing oral cytoxin and can't seem to prevent or relieve these horrible headaches. I did IV cytoxin last year, and slowing down the drip helped, but with the pills, even spacing them 30 minutes apart hasn't  helped. Does anyone have experience or advice about this?

Marsha, it sucks that even the oral Cytoxan gives this side effect. The only thing I've ever heard of - and it did help for me when using the IV stuff - is a good slug of caffeine and for some, sugar with it. I abhor coffee, so for me, it was diet Mt. Dew. My sister used Coca-cola. I think the ice-cold drink may be something that helps, too - constricting some blood vessels. Worth a try chugging some in between spacing the pills. Hope something helps you, sweetie.

    Thinking good thoughts for you.

Thanks, Lisa - I love coffee, so maybe I will try some sweetened iced coffee. Couldn't hurt!

Marsha, are you also taking any anti-nausea drugs like Zofran? I got some pretty good headaches from that.

Good luck and hang in there!

Petelzmom - No Zofran, just Kytril.  I've been trying massive loads of caffeine, and I think that might be working!

    Hi Marsha,

I did oral cytoxan in 2006 but I didn't get headaches. I just wanted to wish you well, and send you a big cyber hug.

    Hugs and prayers,

    Candie
