The Wii and physical fitness?

just laughing at that last statement... I'm at the pro level in bowling, and part of the trick I think- is to stand perfectly still-- not to move like you're bowling at all- and just raise you arm at a certain level and angle...
strikes every time...when you get 6 strikes in a row they call it a six pack... who knew?
LOL. Tennis and boxing are really the only ones that I think require serious movement. Baseball is the one that I think will hurt your arm- especially if you pitch a lot.

How do you save your Mii? Whichever Mii I click on it says that one can't be saved. Whats the secret?
-
i'm not in front of my Wii-- I'm out of town- but you go to the part that lets you name it, and choose it's color outfit, and birthdate- then click quit, and it will give you options-- you choose save and quit.

funny six year old daughter is the best bowler in our family and she turns around backwards and bowls between her legs.....we love it......although the best work out is DDR.....I don't have it for wii but do have it for the ps2......what a blast....you can actually set it in workout mode........20 mins and I can barely stand up.......if you keep it at beginner level.....it is definately manageable....and quite slow.....my 63 year old mom can handle about 15 mins on beginner......We love the wii!....I've told the dh that I want wii fit for my birthday.....so it will be his job to find it!....ha!

I hear an unorthodox place to look for a Wii fit but one where you may score one is Blockbuster. Seems each of their store recieved a couple and some may not even have them out of the stockroom yet.------Worth a try.

My local Walmart had plenty in stock - no waiting line to get one. I just love it!

I'm unpacking it now. Here is a little ditty about its use in physical therapy. Frankly I am already seeing a bit of difference in how much
I can use my bad arm just with the boxing.
I also see how it forcing me to address my balance issues which are very nasty.
Thanks Beth! I have created my Mii

Well --Just finished my first try with Wii fit----Quite impressive. I'd been boxing till now on Wii sports which I believe is helping with range of motion as well as working up quite a sweat.
But this thing ---damn intuitive it is. After assessing me it sensed that I was overweight and asked me if I fall allot----Since my moniker in Physical therapy is the "queen of fall" I'd say they were pretty much on the mark and their scale --just as accurate as my Docs. At least my Wii
fittness age is not an embarrassment.
But boy do I have allot of work to do to hopefully improve my balance, movement, and stamina, but, it doesn't seem like work and I'm working muscles that haven't seen the light of day in years.---And don't get me started on the balance board--getting those balls in the hole is no easy task. I'm trying to keep up stepping with all these Miis but I am the klutz of the year. So many things to try.
Okay, if you frequent a gym everyday and are used to big workouts this probably won't suffice but if you have a gym membership that you don't use very often and feel guilty--you will get a workout with this.
Exercise and fun at the same time-what a concept.
