Just had new scans and MRI and cancer is not stable in lungs and liver.  I was on Zeloda but apparendtly didn't work.  Not a good prognosis at all.   Does anyone have any chemos that worked for them?

I was just dx with mets and started tx in early January 08.  I had taxotere and carboplatin.  After 3 tx pet scan showed "complete metabolic response" and after 6 tx I am on a chemo break because I am all clear (for now).  It was a hard treatment, but it seems to have worked well!  I am scheduled for followup scans in late July.  Hoping for no progression (as are we all)!

    LH1025,

I know it's very discouraging when you have a streak of chemos that don't work.  But it seems like you still have many drugs that you haven't "tried".  I know, again it sucks to have to "try" different ones and not be able to go straight to the ones that work.

I would like to say that Ixempra is a good one to try, since it has the highest probability of response in triple negatives.  However, FDA approved this drug to be used on patients who have undergone anthracycline (Adriamycin, Epirubicin, or I believe Doxil too), taxane (Taxol, Taxotere, or Abraxane) AND Xeloda.  Have you been on either Adriamycin or Doxil yet?

There are really many more options for you, and I'm sure some of them have to work.  It's just a matter of finding the ones that work.

I had 3.2 cm, stage II, tri-negative IDC in April last year.  I was given FEC chemo and it responded very well.  The biopsy after the surgery indicated 0 cancer.  I hope that it would work for you too.
