I had an appointment with Dr. Hofer, the new PS who took over from Dr. Lipa.  He seemed very nice and professional, is recommending a lat. dorsi w/implant for me.

Has anyone actually had any reconstructive surgery, in particular the lat. dorsi. performed by him?

    Thanks

I have recently had reconstruction surgery and although lat d was one of my options, I opted for pedicle tram so I cannot assist you with this, however, I do know that there is extensive discussion on on the Reconstruction thread about ladies opting for, scheduled for, and have had the lat D.

I am also wondering if anyone has had surgery with Dr Hofer?

I have decided not to do the lat. dorsi.  If I do anything at all, it would be an implant. If anyone has had any kind of reconstruction surgery with Dr. Hofer, please let us know how it went.

Not there yet but when I see my surgeon in Nov I'm asking him for a referral so I can start gettting info.  My surgeon wants me to wait two years before recon in case of recurrence.  I saw a surgeon in Oakville about a tram flap but she said it's not an option for me as I had radiation on my abdomen 5 years ago for ovarian cancer.  She recommended a lat d and was going to refer me to Dr. Hofer but has referred me to someone at St. Mike's.  I'll keep that appointment (in Feb) but will also get a referral to Dr. Hofer.  The more input the better.

Good luck Caya with finding someone who's been there.
