Always cold and shaky--finished chemo, now what?

    After 8 rounds of chemo, 2 surgeries and weekly Herceptin, I find that I am almost always cold and shaky in the afternoon and evening.  I've talked with the oncologist about it but they are clueless.  I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this after chemo?  I am always freezing and I live in SC so I shouldn't be cold in May here.  Anyone?

    I was always warm- and after herceptin treatments I get cold-so I drink something warm and get under a blanket!

    I usually had the chills for a few hours after my herceptin infusion.

    Since I live in Florida, I viewed the chills as my personal air conditioning system.

    So it looks like this might be "normal" for Herceptin but this is an everyday occurence for me.  I was wondering if anyone experienced this after finishing their chemo?  Maybe I just overdo?

    Just a thought.  You might have them do a blood test for thyroid function.  One of the symptoms of low thyroid is being cold.  It certainly wouldn't hurt to have it checked.  Apparently it's not unusual for women who are menopausal to have low thyroid function, and the chemo pretty much kicks you into menopause, at least temporarily if not permanently.  Found out I was hypothyroid not too long ago, though I actually didn't have any symptoms. 

    I'm currently on Herceptin by itself, and I haven't been getting cold, more likely to get hot actually.  I've never had any reaction to it after infusion either.
