    Hi I just got my chemo protocol and it is FEC + D for 6 tx, has anyone been on this and how where your side effects. I start on thursday may 8 and would appreciate any insight.   The F is flourouracil, E- epirubicin, C - cyclophosamide and the D is docetaxel (taxotere)     ThanksInnocent

    Hi there,

    I am on the same treatment.  Have finished 2 x FEC - one more to go - yah for me!  Side effects have been very manageable...I have continued to work.  Treatment day, I take off, work from home day 2 and am back in the office on day 3.  The nausea only lasts 2 days and I have slight heartburn for 3 days.  I am sleeping a bit more, but that's to be expected.  I will do the 3 taxotere along with herceptin, then just herceptin for the remaining of the year.  I am going to a concert in Cleveland day3 after my final FEC, but I am sure I am up to it...something to look forward to and keep my mind off things :)

    Hey Angel,

    huggers to you ---

    the chemo is doable -- and side effects can be managed

    taxotere is the bad one-- can cause gastro  probs and constipation

    and hair and nail damage-- sorry -- but you should know-- and may not happen to you --- everyone is different

     i did tac  x 6 ( taxotere, adrymiacin, cytoxan)all at the same time

    thanks ladies for the reply, got through the first tx yesterday and feeling good, almost to good ! no nausea or anything Yet.. will take one day at a time.

    rattail, the concert sounds fun it is good to have somethiing to look forward to , i don't have to do herceptin as i am triple neg and wouldnt do anything for me but might have to do rads, oh well. what ever it takes. !

    pink..i like to hear the bad stuff too no point sugar coating it. I heard taxatore could be a little bit nasty but we'll see.
