I've read that rebounder trampolines are good for preventing/controlling lymphedema (and building bone mass) and wanted to let you know that Big 5 Sporting Goods store has one on sale this week.  The brand name is Exercera, it's 48" and has a stabilizer bar and is around $50.  It comes already assembled, except for the legs and appears to be very sturdy.  So far, I love it and even after only 5 minutes on it, really started to feel the effects.  An added benefit is that my kids love it to.  lol

    Cynthia,

Rebounding is great fun! I have had one for almost a year now. Would use it more if it was up on the main floor of my house but whenever I go downstairs I try to bounce for 2-3 min on it. Having a stabilizer bar is important for good balance and preventing falls. Also sturdily made equipment will also withstand heavy use and be safer.

I can definitely feel the skin moving up and down with each bounce. It just makes sense to me that the lymphatics are being stimulated by this activity. Plus it gives me a more energized feeling getting the circulation going. I am careful not to actually bounce in the air which is harder on the old knee joints. Just a gentle bounce without my feet fully leaving the surface of the rebounder seems to give me the full benefit and is easy on the body.

I know there are no clinical studies yet to prove the benefit in LE but I am a definite believer that used properly it cannot hurt and feel personally it has helped my LE. :)

Cynthia thank you for posting this and Linda thanks for the testimonial- it sounds fun and like a piece of fitness equipment worth having around the house. I am definitely going to check these out!

Rebounding does help!  I couldn't all this week due to a really bad cold, and I can feel the difference. Keep bouncing!
