    I was just given my surgery date for a mastectomy.  Am worried because I have the her2+ and the surgery isn't until May 23rd.  Will my tumor grow in that time.  It's 18mm now.  Also I am diabetic and worried about healing.

    Bonnie: I was diagnosed on 1/15 (didn't have the Her2+ diagnosis yet) and because of lumpectomy/re-excision, I didn't have my mastectomy until March 19 and began chemo + Herceptin on April 8. I understand your concern - talk to your breast surgeon about your worries. Have you been referred to an oncologist yet? I made my own appointment with the one I chose during my surgeries, and had my plan all in place so I could begin as soon after surgery as possible.
