Oh Liz, thank you so much for doing the photos, you are a jewel.  What a group of lovely ladies, so much fun, and I love the photo of the ocean.  Thanks again, sweetie, Shirlann

Thank you, Liz! What a yummy lunch we had at Crepes and Corks - mmm-mmmm, complete with champagne! Who could go wrong?!? Those ocean waves do look inviting, even after having  spent the early morning out on the water Dragon boating. I hope some of my SD buddies will consider joining with me on The Big Boat. I'll send more info to Lisa#3 and Bdrider - anyone else? Melia - we have got to get you, our founding member, back with us next time!! Maybe if we met in Encinitas? Kiss

    smooches,

    Lisa

What was the date in May? I don't have a calendar handy. Anyone have any ideas on where to go. Encinitas sounds good to me. So Melia do you know any good places to eat near you?

To All: You are all such wonderful, brave and special women. I feel blessed and honored to call you my friends.

    Hi all,

Looks like you all had a blast. I miss you too. Sundays, as you know, just aren't an option for me, but if you are looking at a Sat, count me in. I know you met on a Sat a couple of months ago, but it was the weekend before Steve's surgery and we went out of town to try to relax and forget about what was ahead of him. He seems to be recovering well, and work should slow down once Mother's Day is over. So pick a place, and I will do my best. It doesn't have to be in Encinitas, anywhere is fine.

    Hugs, Melia

Well guys, I wish I had been with you, but we had tickets to the Padres game. Given that bunch of losers, I would have been better off in Del Mar!

As for the 17th - I think I will have house guests then, so I'm not sure I can make it.

Sorry I missed lunch, too. We were at Disneyland/CA Adventure, trying to avoid heat stroke.

I don't know about the 17th, either. We've scheduled a family birthday party for that day--the birthdays we're celebrating were in February and April, so you get the picture of how my schedule is. Undecided But if I can make it, I will.

The 17th doesn't sound too promising ... anyone have an alternate date?  Let's not limit it to saturdays if more people can make sunday.

Melia-We want you there so if Saturday is the only day for you we are picking a Saturday.

How about the 31st? Will that work for everyone. I love the idea of Encinitas. It is closer so I won't have to pay the babysitter for as long. Maybe I can even get my dh to switch days with someone so he has that day off. That would be even better.

May 31st is a Sat and it works for me--or I could do the 24th which is also a Sat -if that is what will work for the most people.

I enjoyed Crepes and Corks - thanks to Jodi for recommending this place.  I plan to take my husband up for a dessert crepe and coffee one of these days ;-)  It was good to see everyone.  I'm always amazed by the strength and spirit of our group.

LisaSDCA - I'm very interested in the Dragon boat.  I've been going to the gym most every day (working with a trainer) as I try to get back in shape and drop some weight.

The 31st in Encinitas works for me.

31st sounds  great to me. I miss you all. I may bring my best friend, who had a mastectomy two weeks ago. I don't know if she will be up to it; her way of handling this has been to ask me questions, but to avoid any reading, etc. Which is fine ... I haven't figured it out yet, and I read everything. Maybe ignorance IS bliss. Her diagnosis is excellent, though. Tiny tumor, no nodes, er pr +, don't know about her2.

WOHOO!!! We are at 7 for 5/31......anyone know how to handle breast lymphedema? Surgeon told me to put the compression bandage on at night and to wear a tight bra during the day---but it has been since 3/3 since my last surgery and I'm still very swollen and sore on the radiated side.

I think I can do the 31st - an awfully long way off! And I'm good with Encinitas - maybe I'll have some $$ to stop by a couple of favorite garden centers up there. I hope your friend can make it Melia. Even when you don't know what is going on (or maybe especially when you don't know what is going on) the comfort and reassurance of being with other women who have been/are going through some of the same challenges can be invaluable.

Kim and Lisa#3, did you get my email about the Dragon Boat Festival at Mission Bay on Saturday? EVERYONE is welcome - it is specifically for novices. Team Survivor San Diego will have a tent/booth set up beginning at 9am but we won't be hitting the water before 10. Let me know if you can make it so I can be sure we have a t-shirt for you. Paddles will be provided. Anyone is welcome to email or PM me. Even those who were there at the beginning have only been on the water 3 times, and we are still looking to fill our BIG boat - so let's hear from some recruits! Cool We have all ages and fitness levels, and just like our Lunch Bunch - varying recovery/treatment stages. The only requirement is a desire to get out there and have some fun with some other wimmins!

Oh, yeah - Team Survivor San Diego will also have a presence at the CancerSurvivorship Celebration in June posted by Christine above (yo, Christine - come to a brunch/lunch, girl!). Last year's program had some awesome educational speakers - the kind you'd go to a medical conference for - alas, I was in the deadspace between TAC #5 & 6. Tongue out

Anyway - maybe we could coordinate our June meeting to coincide with this celebration (parking is far better than it was in Del Mar! Wink) And maybe I could take orders for sandwiches and bring a cooler-full, with drinks, because I am nearby and could devise a pick-up with a place I know in Pt. Loma, I'd bet. There are picnic facilities there. Just an idea to throw out well in advance.

What is Dragon Boat Festival and how long are you on the water. Sun has never liked me, but I found out last Sunday at the game how much it truly hates me now.

Good question, guitarGrl--I've got two wigs I'd happily give away, too.

And I think going to the Survivorship Celebration sounds like a great idea. Hi, Christine (and Joe)--*waving*--it's Marie's daughter, Stephanie, from your her2 board. It would be great to see you at our next lunch!

I remember watching a story on the news about that Celebration last year. It sounds like a great place to be. I wonder if taking the Coaster down would be a good plan. Thanks for the info Christine. Why haven't you joined us?

For those of you who have wigs to donate, my friend Bobbie Harris* is the wig coordinator for the American Cancer Society for San Diego. She runs the "Wig Salon' at The ACS Discover Shop ('Upscale Resale') on Midway Drive in the Sports Arena Area. Bobbie is there on Tuesdays, but they will take a donation at anytime and hold it for her. Many cancer centers also take donations - I know my chemo unit at Kaiser had a basket for caps and scarves, so you might ask where you received treatment.

*this is my same friend I'm always bragging on who is a 25+yr. triple neg. survivor Cool
