Seriously when is it gonna stop

I'm tired of being tired... I have been taking Tamoxifen for about 8 mnths now and I hurt almost all the time. My joints hurt, my muscles are sore and sometimes my mouth still gets that raw hamburger effect, along with almost constant jaw and teeth pain. Granted this is nowhere near the misery I went through with chemo but enough is enough. I had one of my doc's suggest I stop taking it for a little while but I have a 1 and 8 chance of getting this stuff again and I can't see how stopping is going to help in the long run. Not to mention family members, who have never had cancer, who are looking at me and telling me, I need to just get up and start moving, yeah... I force myself to do the things my family needs done but usually by the time I am done, I am hurting so bad and am so tired, I feel nauseous, so I end up going to bed for hours until I feel better and even when I get up from this I am so sore I have to move slowly until I am loosened up. I am feeling a little better more often but seriously 5 more years of this, I think I might go crazy. While I on this rant I might as well say I also tired of being scared, if there was something else wrong with me, I am to scared to go to the doctor because what if the cancer is back or spread, talk about feeling nuts, I'm even scared to go to the dentist because what if the pain in my jaw and teeth is cancer. I also have people who are really trying to help by suggesting vitamins, lotions, and herbs but what they don't realize is that a lot of that stuff that is hormone rich and I can't touch it with someone else's breast. I get tired of having to explain that one to people. As big as this disease is' a great number of people have no clue about what breast cancer really involves.. Thanx for listening to me rant here, I think I would go crazy if I thought I was truly in this situation alone. As much trouble as I see here on this board from time to time, I have found a true lifeline here with you ladies, so ((((
))))) to you from me.

Phoenix,
I had a horrible time on Tamoxifen--most of it was depression related--and that all changed when I moved to Lupron and Arimidex. If you absolutely must be on treatment now, have you discussed changing regimes with your doctor?
Being scared is normal, especially when you are having problems with your medicine. Time helps a lot, but in the meanwhile, you need support!
All this stress and hormonal manipulation creates an imbalance in brain chemistry, too. Some of the antidepressants out there can address that, as well as perhaps helping with the chronic pain. You deserve to feel better. Can you talk about these issues with your oncologist or primary care provider?
People will always be offering up their own "cures" for whatever it is you have and they don't (yet)--just politely refuse, and inwardly roll your eyes, and hope that they don't ever have to face what you are facing. We didn't know about all this stuff, either, till we had to walk the walk.
Hang in there.

Hi Phoenix,
I was going to suggest what Anne did. I'm trip neg so I don't take any preventive drug like Tamoxifen but I have read (many times) about girls switching.
Also, there is a thread on here that is dedicated to girls taking Tamoxifen and I bet you can get a lot of info on there.
The cancer center that I go to has counseling services available too. Although I'm not a big fan of that, maybe your family might benefit from it. Just an idea sister because something needs to happen to make them realize just cuz you've had your surgery, it doesn't mean you are all better and back to normal!!
Good luck girl.
Hugs back at you!
