Wanted to ask a question regarding the sizing on the Amoena 126 Leisure Form. I ordered one and received it today, and it's quite a bit smaller than my remaining breast and my form. Do these forms tend to run really small? I have a size 4 Airway, which corresponds to a 36 A. No one locally carries the Amoena, so I can't try before I buy. The regular Amoena forms seem to run pretty much the same size-wise as the Airway, but apparently the foam ones don't.

I know Barbara mentioned she wears Airway forms, and also has the Amoena 126. Did you end up buying a larger leisure form? If so, how many sizes larger? Having to buy things on-line is a pain, that's for sure!

On the plus side, I got one of the ABC petite T-shirt bras, and that seemed to fit pretty good. Just got it today, so I'll have to take it for a test-ride and see how comfortable it is over several hours. I'd like to be able to wear a foam form with it, especially during the summer.

It's so hard to figure out sizes when you can't try things on. I have the Airway Tritex forms in two sizes--size 2 and size 3. I know that the Airway sizing chart says that even a 3 is equivalent to an A, but on me the size three looks like a large B. I'm a 34 band width, 5' 4 1/2", 106 pounds. I've also tried a few sizes of the Amoena 126s: the size 3s, which are definitely an A, the size 4s which on me look like small Bs, and the size 5s, which are large Bs on me. I mostly wear the 4s. The 3s are really too small and the 5s are okay but a bit large to fit in my bras.

If the size 4 Airway fits you like a 36 A, then probably you should go up to a size 6 in the Amoena form, I would think. If you order it online, they are usually exchangeable, though you'd probably have to pay the shipping costs.

Which Airway form do you have? How do you like it? One thing that surprised me with the Airway was the big jump in size from the 2 to the 3. The 3 is a lot bigger, and a hlot eavier, too. I like the look of the 3 but prefer the light weight of the 2.

I have an Amoena contact lite in a size 5, and have the 126 leisure form in a 5 and a 6 depending on what I'm wearing. I can use the 5 in the ABC petite t-shirt bra (finally a mast bra that fits!) as well as in some of my swim suits. In other suits I need a size 6. I'm 5'4 and wear a 34 A/B. I would order a few sizes and return what don't fit.

I appreciate the feedback. I'm thinking I'll need a 6 in the 126. I'm 5'5", and weight about 145, so a bit bigger then Erica, I think! There was once a time when I wasn't, but that was many, many years (and lbs.) ago! I weighed about 110-115 when I was in my 20's, and I was pretty much all muscle. I wore a 34 B back in those days.

Erica, I have the Airway SoftLite triangle. It's what the insurance covered. It isn't uncomfortable, and it doesn't feel heavy, and it does match me pretty well. But that side does end up hanging lower than my breast, doesn't seem to matter what bra I'm wearing and how I adjust the strap. I definitely do NOT have a problem with it riding up! I'm hoping I can use the foam form instead, but we'll see.

Where would I be without you guys! Where else can you go and get the low-down on our somewhat specialized needs??!! Thanks again!

Got the Amoena in a 6 and it'll work great in my sports bras and swimming suit. It also looks good in a camisole, it matches really well. It actually feels more like my natural breast then my silicone form. The silicone is firmer/harder then my breast, and the foam feels like the real thing! 55 year old boobs are a bit on the soft side, I guess! Very comfortable to wear, too. Since it's concave, it doesn't press as much against my chest so it's cooler to wear as well.

I think I'll order 1 or 2 more in a larger size to wear with my regular bras, since they're a little bit too small with them. The side of the bra my proth is on ends up hanging about an inch or so lower then my breast - no problem with ride-up there! And if I shorten the strap enough to even me out, it pulls up every time I reach up, so that doesn't work. When you're an A, your breast in the cup just doesn't have enough weight to equal the proth weight in the other cup. I wish the silicone didn't make me sweat so much, I'd love to try a form that adheres, but I know it would just be way too hot for me. I can't have the silicone up against my skin.

I think I'm going to order the 126's for swimming - just wondering where you order them from? any particular place you like? Erica - I believe you answered my post the other day saying they don't sag in your bathing suits as the weighted ones did.

Many online sites carry them. It's worth it to shop around and find the best price--Park Mastectomy Supply has them as does Women's Personal Health Resource. For me, they work well in bathing suits--they don't sag even when wet.

I'm so happy the 126 in the size 6 works for you. Hopefully, getting the larger size as well will give you even more flexibility.

When I wear the 126 in a regular mast bra (as opposed to a sports bra), I use a "soft cup" behind it to give it a little more projection. I am very flat, and have issues with concave forms (as most of them are), so this works well for me. I love the 126 for swimming as it's light and doesn't stretch out the straps or sag and look strange. The forms take a while to dry, so when I get out of the water, I wrap a towel around myself and squeeze my chest to get most of the water out. I have three 126 forms to allow time for them to dry between wearings.

How long do the forms take to dry out? If they take more than 24 hours, a third one might be a good idea.

I'm not flat from the surgery. I have an indentation along the scar line, and tissue underneath it that comes out enough to keep the bra band from riding up, which isn't a bad thing. Flat forms aren't quite as comfortable for me. I might try one of my fiberfill softee forms behind the 126 and see if that makes it project a little further. I rather like the concave back of the form since it doesn't sit directly on my chest and it makes it cooler to wear.

The 126 forms generally take about 24 hours to dry out, so if you will be swimming two days in a row, you need two. The different sizes work with different swim suits, so I have two size 5 and a size six. In a pinch, you could probably use a hair dryer to speed up the drying. The swim suits that work best for me are the lands end high neck tankinis with the built in bra (not underwire). I don't even get the mast suit, and just have someone sew a pocket in for me. I have never found a mast suit that I like because they're not high enough (how I wish I could wear the lower cut suits!), so when I find a suit that works, I get it in a few different colors.

It will probably shorten the life of the forms, but I confess that I have at times thrown them in the dryer along with my suit after swimming. So far, so good.

I did buy 2 of them just for that reason. We have a swimming pool, which I never used even once last summer due to chemo and surgery, so I intend to actually get in it a few times this summer! Plus we want to take some kind of vacation this summer, so I'll be getting in the water.

I have to get busy and order a tankini from Lands End before they're gone! I really like the halter v-neck, but I'm not sure if that will work or not. Since it ties, it might actually do the job. I guess I'll order that and the solid one. I can always return it to Sears if it doesn't work out. None of the other suits come in the prints, just solids, which gets kind of boring. I like that you can get the bottoms seperate. I like a slightly higher leg cut, it just looks better on me because my legs are a bit on the short side. Most of the mast suits have the conservative cut which just hits me in a bad spot and makes my legs look stumpy.

I actually do have a Slimsuit that has a high neck that I can sew a pocket into, and it's great for swimming. So I'm hoping that works out. None of the other suits I had worked because they were too low. I have seen some cute tankinis that are halter-style that would be high enough.
