Kylie Minogue triple neg survivor?

    Hi all,

I've been trying to find out what kind of BC the Australian singer Kylie Minogue has had since she got it very young (37), was initially misdiagnosed as having a benign condition, and has repeatedly qualified her form of BC as "very aggressive." She has now been pronounced cured and is in the USA promoting her latest album. If she was a triple negative like us, that would be real encouragement! Yet another survivor story.

    Love to all,

    Annie

I'd like to find an oncologist who'd pronounce me, you, all of us cured.  Last time I checked, there was no cure.  Not trying to be a bummer here but there's a difference between NED and cured.  I get a little testy when friends and family pronounce me cured since treatment is complete.  If only they could see inside my head they might think otherwise.

    Dear Twink,

Of course the word "cured" was used by Minogue's press people, and most probably destined for a public largely uneducated about breast cancer and its terminology. In fact, she has said many times that she lives in dread of recurrence, which would in and of itself cancel out the definitive nature of the word "cured."

This said, another story of a triple negative patient becoming NED would be lovely as well, as any one of us would agree. I, like everyone else on this forum, yearn for the time when someone might tell me that I have reached a stage of NED. I'll take that appellation instead of "cured" any day!

    Hugs,

    Annie
