I'm so ticked off with the gov! WHY, if I can renew my license by mail and they just use your last pic, can't they just pull that same pic out let me renew without a pic this year? IT's my freaking 50th birthday this month and my license is due for renewal at the office (can't mail in) and they say, just go by a new wig! I DON'T want to spend MONEY to get a new wig so the freaking state can take a pic of me with hair that isn't mine! I've half a nerve to go get one that hangs down over my eyes like a sheep dog and go in there and make a freaking statement! Maybe an bright red one like bozo from the rental shop? What is best do you think? RED? BLUE? PURPLE?
Dangit, I've been through enough, I am not going in there and wearing a freaking wig that someone might died in or who knows where it's been!
OH, and IF I DON'T renew it on time, I'll get fined! BITE ME STATE OF MICHIGAN! Wishiwere a lawyer today!

wishiwere...I'm so sorry that you have to deal with government crap and lack of human empathy. Unfortunately, though, I'm thinkin' it will just be another instance of trying to "fight city hall" if you refuse to go in for the photo. Personally, purple hair sounds great to me. Who knows, maybe it will "grow on you" and you'll sport it all over the place. Hey, it could happen

Help me here. We have our days, for sure. I want to just give up. I'm so freakin' tired all the time. I'm so depressed I don't want to see the sunshine, there's something wrong with this. My little bitty breast surgery last July hurts every single day, as if I don't remember on my own, at random times it just squeezes a nerve in there, or I move the wrong way and . . OWWWWW. I've been trying so hard to get going again, to go to work everyday, to keep on keepin on and I don't want to do anything. cept cry. My DH is so tired of hearing me complain, he tries so hard to make me feel better. I just have no passion for anything, I can't concentrate for more than 10 min. I take Lexapro, and have upped the dose months ago. I take B12, added iron. And I couldn't get out of bed and go to work today. Will I ever return to pre bc normal???
anybody?

You know, not all meds work for all people. Have you considered having them change meds for you! And what's with your surgical site still hurting? Did you have a lumpectomy and it still hurts? Why is it still hurting? THere are pain clinics to deal with chronic pain. Have you had a doc say why you still have pain from that?
I know my problem is small in comparison to others, and hate that I even posted, as it seems so trivial. It's just the whole thing that I CAN'T wear a hat, b/c 'they' can't wear turbans and so on... but ENOUGH already! I'm sick of being sic already, you know? I'm not really sick, just dealing with all this crap that comes after is way too disappointing. I'm ready to go to jail and let the government pay the $400/month for arimidex if that's what they want to do, you know? This is nutty! Just stupid!

You know? How is it any different if I go out and buy a freaking wig that looks nothing like me or my hair and get a pic, or wear a little cap that hides my head, but shows my head size! I mean, I could get an afro or a big hair do and wear it over my hat and it would my head 6 inches too big? It would never look like my small head, so it wouldn't be accurate then? I just don't understand this mess!

WishIwere - your complaint is not trivial at all! you have enough on your plate w/o worrying about DMV bureaucracy. My hair was falling out, my license needed renewed and of course, I needed another photo that year. Went into the DMV with a part in my hair the size of a river - I forgot my SS Card and they wouldn't take my pic or let me renew that day. I whispered to the girl, uh, I have cancer and my hair might not be here tomorrow. She replies with the old those are the rules bs. I managed to get a photo with hair the next day by not touching it for 24 hours. If I were you, I would wear a purple or pink punk wig.
Connie - have you talked to the doc about your pains? Also, I agree, meds affect people differently, that Lexapro might be making you tired and zombielike. Some anti depressants can do that. ? Might be worth an inquiry to the doc. Good luck.

Getting my license renewed was one of the few times I wore that wig. You could go for your picture bald and bold. Who knows it might gain you a few brownie points if you're stopped for a minor infraction. It would be cheaper than purple.
-
wishIwere, I know what I would do....go for the pic with no hair and a pink bc pin on my chest. And I would get enjoyment out of making the person take my pic. I know that prob sounds awful and an awful person I am not...but I would have to get some satisfaction.
Connie, Raye is right...talk to your doc about your concerns.
-
I know where you're coming from. I knew my license was coming due at the time that I would be bald, so I went and renewed it early. I had had a treatment but my hair hadn't fallen out yet. I looked awful in the picture, but at least I had hair.
I'm sorry you're going through this. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Go and renew it without hair and hold your head high.
-
Actually, I heard in California, if they know you are bald, chemo or not, you must remove the wig. It's a big ssshhhhh.
-
See, that's what I don't get!? The woman my dh talked to at the DMV told him to take me and get a nice expensive wig! Excuse me! First, I can't afford with all the med. bills, and secondly, it wouldn't be me and really, less so than a freaking hat on my head, you know? It just doesn't make sense!

I renewed my license after I lost my hair to. I had to go to the place, I was so sick and the line was long all I wanted was to lay down anywhere. I guess they felt sorry for me cause I looked so bad they let me keep my little hat on. I am a three year survivor but I still have alot of problems and some days I too want to quit becauseof all the financial, Insurance, medical bills, and being tired still. I was dx 2/5 Stage 3 2 Lymph nodes + her 2 +
