    Thanks, Twinkly. Good one.

We had a lengthy thread on iodine several weeks ago.  I'll see if I can find it and bump it up.  I was going through a huge learning curve on it at the time.  My thyroid seems to be out of whack and my mainstream medical people are not helping me.  They use information that became outdated 6 years ago to assess my 'normal' range for TSH blood test results, and they feel my neck and inform me my thyroid is normal.

I encounter blind eyes and deaf ears when I present them with information from the association of endocrinologists which developed the new guidelines in 2002.  So anyone suspecting thyroid dysfunction, be prepared to do some serious homework to find relief.  In my search for relief, a friend's chiropractor suggested iodine supplements.  Then my head really went into information overload.  The USDA says 150 micrograms is the daily recommended allowance, and toxic levels begin at 1100 mcg.  The supplements I purchased were 3 milligrams per tablet!  That's nearly 3 times 1100 mcg!  On top of that, I was told to take 6 per day, which is 18 mg.

As I was doing research, I found a page that describes dr derry's book.  I find it fascinating.  I don't know what to think, though.  Part of me says, hey, this is great news.  Another part says, well, if it's true that bc can be prevented just by keeping up sufficient levels of iodine, then why isn't everyone just made aware of this and be allowed the opportunity to protect our health with iodine?  I took a whole bottle of those supplements and still didn't feel any better.  I moved onto something else and finally got some relief from the relentless fatigue.  I'll go find that thread now.

Is Iodine what they used to swab all over us before having babies or surgery.

This is quite interesting.  Especially when it comes to the "flesh eating virus"..MRSA.  I suppose that's MRSA.  It's definitely worth a try for wounds.
