Hi Angel,
Thanks for asking. The biopsy went well, for a biopsy! No pain and there were three amazing women there. The doctor, radiologist and one who kept her hand on my shoulder the whole time and talked with me. Monday, at the very earliest, I may get my results, but probably by Tuesday or Wednesday. Tomorrow is my One year...I truly hope it's still a Cancer Free one...
Linda

One year ago today my wonderful breast surgeon yanked out that nasty ol' tumor and set me on the road to.....a new me. I'm ok with that. :-) The sun is shining and the snow is melting, a beautiful day.
Angel, I see we share operation dates and Linda (? can't remember what I *just read...that's part of the new me), we share the same day of dx.
We carry on, sisters.
-
March 23th, Thursday was my 1 year Cancerversary. Uneventful, did not do a damn thing. The only ones that congratulated me were my BCO buddies in the chat room, and my daughter.
Kisses and hugs to you all that are having, had, or will have your cancerversary.
-
Harley ... cheers sister!
deborye ... love that kiss, right back atchya .. my SO sent me an ecard but doubt he would have remembered had I not told him last night
Terry ... I remember there were at least 6 of us from bco having surgery that day! We sure do carry on.
Hugs and love to All
-
Congrats Angel, Deborye and Terry! Here's to many, many Cancer free years!
Harley - Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. It's floor pacing time...
Linda
-
Linda, you're in my thoughts. The waiting is difficult, how's that for an understatement.....
-
Have enjoyed reading the comments posted here. I have a little different, warped twist on my thinking of cancerversary. I've always felt that i bacame a survivor in Nov 2000 when I was first diagnosed. But, I think of my cancerversary as almost 2 years ago, after surgery, chemo, rads, and 5 years of Tamoxifen. It was only then that I felt like celebrating.
huggssss to all.....junie

The news wasn't good. I have DCIS. Very early and very small. With my history, I'm having a Mastectomy. I see my surgeon on Thursday to schedule surgery. We'll know more then. March is NOT my month...
Linda
-
Aww Linda. That sucks! Get that mastectomy and be done with this nonsense. Next March will be better, I'm sure.
-
Oh... I meant to add, my one year diagnosaversary was January 18th.
-
Linda,
So sorry to hear the news! Yes, I agree with Twink. Just go ahead and get the mast...Good Luck!
Harley -
I count the day they took the tumor out....Sept 26, 2005
-
((Linda)), I'm sorry too ..But, glad it was very early and very small and DCIS. I agree about the mastectomy. I had bilateral and if I can be of any help don't hesitate to ask. Hugs!!!
Maryl, Cool new avatar!
-
Mary... very very COOL avatar!
hmmm.... nobody's commented on mine.... Oink!
-
Twink!! I must say you have the most Interesting of avatars!!! Is there a story behind it other than how we all feel like pink pigs? lol Sorry, congrats on your one year diagnosaversery! I like how you termed that (although it's hard to pronounce! lol). When is your cancerversary (and is that when you had the cancer removed or when you finished treatment?)
-
Thanks Angel! No, no story behind the avatar other than how I'm feeling lately. I need to get back to the gym.
My surgery was last June 6th. Treatment didn't end until January (rads). Too many anniversaries to keep track of I think. The one I'm counting though is January 9th... end of active treatment.
-
My one year diagnosisversary is coming up next week - April 11. I had a lumpectomy first, then a mastectomy. I've been trying to decide when my cancerversary will be. What I feel most comfortable with is the date of the mastectomy, because that's when the whole thing was gone. So, June 14, 2008 will be my first "Cancerversary". Also the date of my local Race for the Cure.
I wonder how I will feel on 4/11, though. It was, afterall, a day that changed my life.
