    Hi Everyone,

I have posted a few comments about my  long term belly ache, 13 weeks in all, 7 doctors, 3 specialists and 8 lots of antibiotics and no imporvement, so I decided to see a diagnostic herbalist.  Brave eh?

She told me that I have a viral infection in the dna in my abdomen.  Incurable and carried by 80%  of all adults.  But she did give me 8 bottles of herbal tincutures, at a cost of $180. !!!

She also told me that the reason I have bc. is because I have spent my whole life nurturing others and that if I do not start nurturing myself I will not survive.

When I asked her for some tools to help me to learn this skill, she was unable to come up with anything.  She did tell me that I had an incredibly strong constitution and that I was doing well.

Interestingly, the bc did NOT show up on the iridology, but the impaired immune and lymph systems did!!

All very interesting and very expensive, for Australian standards, but I will give it a go, because there is no where else for ME to go!>

    Wish you all well,

    Sashiko

Have you looked at the possibility that something you are eating may be triggering your stomach problems? The reason I ask is because both my cousin and my friend's little girl were constantly battling stomach pains. In both cases, they went totally lactose and gluten free, and they have no more problems. Every once in a while, the little girl will eat some junk food with her friends, and she ends up in pain again. If your docs have not suggested this, maybe see a nutritionist who can help you figure out if food is your trigger. By the way, my cousin has what I think is called celiac disease? Have you heard of this? She has become very healthy since changing her diet.

Your herbalist sounds like an idiot. I am seeing a wonderful homeopathic chiropractor who has really helped me to balance my system since BC. I am doing a liver detox now, and I have changed to  a low glycemic diet and cut out sugar, and it has made a lot of difference. I have opted to not do any hormone treatment because I do not trust the long term side effects, so I had to look for support from another doctor besides my ONco. I hope you can find a better doctor. No one should have to deal with someone who prescibes something, but really does not know what is causing your pain.

    Good luck to you!

I think that $180 would be well spent if you end up feeling better.  Thirteen weeks is a long time to feel miserable.  If this is something that 80% of adults carry and it's incurable, my response would be to get the name of condition and educate myself on it.  I'm no medical expert, but I'm wondering why this doesn't sound even remotely familiar to me.

As for the explanation of why you have bc, I think it's an oversimplified generalization.  If this kind of theorizing interests you, a book you might like is Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom by Christiane Northrup.  She's an MD who integrates non-mainstream ideas into her practice.  She is a strong believer that our bodies are sending us messages at all times.  It will start with a tap, then a knock, and eventually a mack truck if we fail to heed the messages.  Supposedly, people with nurturing issues are more prone toward bc.  And clearly, one does have to wonder, why do some people get bc, others ovarian, lung, bone, brain, stomach cancers.  Personally, I think there's *some* merit to this body sending us messages kind of thinking, but I'm more inclined to think of these things as clues rather than causes.

Come back in a week or two and let us know how you're doing.

    Hi Sashiko,

I had stomach problems too.  Really bad pains in the lower abdomen and digestive problems.  After checking for gynecological problems and doing a lot of tests, my doctor finally diagnosed Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS. It's a very common problem - check out info on the Internet and you'll see.  I now have medication to take when it flares up.  It has helped a lot.

    Hi Lisa,

I have had ibs for many years and did indeed suggest this problem to my own gp, with whom I finally got an app, after 4 months wait.  He said "No" he certainly did not think so.  But I see him again today after many more tests and will run it by him again.

In the meantime, I have been taking 6 bottles of hokey pokey potions from the diagnostic herbalist, who says I have the IMV an obsucre virus resididng in the dna of my abdomen!! Incurable, so you either get better or die!! Great.  It can be caused by chemo and cancer!! And 80% of all adults carry the gene.  I have yet to find one person with it, either here or on the US site.

I will get my gp to check for that too. The herbalist cost $330 so what's a bit more.  Anything to get some answers.

Like ibs, this pain seems to be exacerbated by STRESS.!! Well isn't just about everything?

I hope you are travelling well.

Hi Shashiko - I've been reading up on the virus you say the herbalist says you have - CMV (cytomegalovirus) right?  If that's correct, do you have any other symptoms besides pain in your stomach?  The reason I ask is that stomach pain isn't a symptom of a CMV infection.  "Active infection in otherwise healthy children and adults can cause prolonged high fever, chills, severe tiredness, a generally ill feeling, headache, and an enlarged spleen.  People with weakened immune systems can have more serious, potentially life-threatening illnesses, with fever, pneumonia, liver infection, and anemia."

    http://www.dhpe.org/infect/cytomegalo.html

I had been seeing an herbalist and iridologist for many years prior to my diagnosis and whenever I saw her for breast lumps, she would tell me everything looked fine according to my eyes.  She apparently didn't know that breast cancer doesn't show up in the eyes until it's pretty far advanced.  Fortunately, she moved and I started seeing another iridologist prior to my lump appearing and she told me to get it checked out because it would take awhile for it to appear in my eyes.

Good luck and I hope you get some answers for what ails you.

Good luck Sashiko.  IBS is painful, but manageable with the right medication.

    Take care,  Lisa

    Hi Everyone,

An update on the cmv diagnosis and wheat intolderance, diagnosed by the herbalist etc. etc.  I asked my gp to do these tests for me in the usual blood test pathology way and guess what, I am NOT  wheat intolerant, and nor do I have the cmv virus!!!!!!

I feel angry and duped.  I think she just plucked these illnesses out of the air and hoped to be on the right track.  I am still taking all the potions except for the cmv one ( I don't want to risk giving myself something I certainly do not have).

I wont go down that road again.  It might work for some, but has not been kind to me.

I lead an incredibly healthy life style and eat little but really well and live by the sea in the country.  Stress is always a problem, especially if  am alone.  Each new scare takes it's toll and I do not know how to overcome that without support.

Our local bc support group is not suitable for me, as it only has about 8 members and they are all dear little old ladies, with whom I have nothing in common!!

Hope you are all travelling well.
