i am confused! i have been told that chemo works best on triple neg tumors i had ACT before my surgery and i has 100% response from my tx
Looks like I am in the triple negative group and when I started freaking out in the oncologist office he said that it's the triple negative that respond best to chemo. I star ac on Monday for 4 treatments then taxol for 4. My Her2 came back with a score of 1 and they are doing a fish on it. If it comes back with a higher score then it will be herceptin for me. -
I read a report yesterday saying that Cisplatin does not work on all trip negs so that would fall into the we are all different subject we were talking about.
I just wish they would make up their minds on these things, it just sends me in circles sometimes. -
What report was that - can I ask? Can you post it? I started out with A/C and I didn't respond. I then went on for a mastectomy and finished up with Cisplatin and Gemzar. There's no way to tell if it "worked" because by then I had the mastectomy. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to fall -anxiety is way too high... especially since I go for blood work in 2 weeks.

Hi Laurel, this is what I read yesterday.
But this mentions only Cisplatin, not gemzar treatment.
Some of us respond differently to different chemos, I'm sure you have or will find something that will work for you.
I don't like the anxiety either.
Fingers crossed you have good blook in 2 weeks, let us know, -
Hi everybody on this post.....just checking in to see how everyone is doing.
I hope...o.k.

Trip Neg.... -
i think there has been some confusion. I have been told by the people studying the Cisplatin efficacy that the standard A/C T regimin has a very good complete response rate (somewhere near 30%) but does not work on all triple negatives. We never know which will work on us...
I have done 4 dose dense treatments of A/C and my tumor and node have shrunk way down although not quite gone...now on to T. This is all neoadjuvant. If I don't get a complete pathological response upon surgery, I plan to go onto yet another chemo (cisplatin or carboplatin or.....not quite sure).
EVeryone should grab some extra chunks of tumor before starting chemo....so they can test us for these nuances....like the Cisplatin proteins. Turns out I have very little original tumor left....makes me sort of worried.
